CdTDroiD: Hows everyone going with this? still using it?
CdTDroiD: Hows everyone going with this? still using it?
I used LCD Density Modder Pro (NZD3.79 on the market) to sort out the market and it worked perfectly the whole time. I used to use it all the time to adjust lcd density on GB roms, but ics seems to break it. I just use the tweaked market and google services framework the app provides to get around the market issues. It works perfectly on CM9 and Samsung based roms.
K1000716: I loved it. It was a great push to get into CM9 and worked pretty well. I used LCD Density Modder Pro (NZD3.79 on the market) to sort out the market and it worked perfectly the whole time. The only thing I missed was call recording. I normally use Omega (ICS) and like many of the older GB roms it's baked into the phone app, making it very simple to use. I couldn't really find anything that worked the same and I use it on a weekly/bi weekly basis. Unfortunately it's a feature I couldn't do without.
I also felt, and it may well be just me, that the CM9 camera wasn't up to the same level as stock. I use mine a lot (three young kids, school holidays...) and it seemed I was getting blurrier pics than I normally would have. I'm quite happy to accept I may well be wrong here, but the combination of the two sent me reluctantly back to Samsung based roms.
I loved the CM9 experience and will happily go back to it once I sort out the call recording. Still looking for that simple yet elusive call recorder (happy to pay for one if anyone has suggestions)...
Thanks for providing us with your tweaked version to play with. It was well worth the experience.
Rudder: I can confirm LCD Density Modder pro works to fix the market issue.
1) Install the app.
2) Run it and select Fix market Compatibility issues
3) Press Download Modded Play Store and wait for it to download
4) Press Download Modded GSF
5) Press install mods (dont do this without downloading both the Modded Play Store and Modded GSF)
6) Reboot as prompted.
Optional
7) if play store app is missing after reboot go back into LCD density modder
8) Select fix market compatability
9) Kill play store (This may be skipped)
10) Open play store
The standard setting is 240dpi. If you don't really want to play with the lcd density just set it at 230, it's such a small change that you'd be lucky to spot it in most situations. Personally I like 192, gives the phone a nice HD kind of look. I tend to view a lot of text so it makes it much easier to read this way.
When installing the two files you'll probably see errors relating to maps and possibly other google apps as well but don't worry, they're fine. Just click through them and continue.

I will have to have a play around with these settings. Thanks for letting us know about this app. Now this Rom is awesome and I have 0 complaints.
Rudder: I only got this phone about a week ago and had it 30 min before i switched to this rom so I can't comment sorry.
Camera seems fine to me in this rom but that is comparing it to my Nexus One
loganjames: Have been looking at this toying with weather I should install it on my 3 day old SGS II but I plugged it into my PC and Offical ROM 4.0.3 is here on the i9100T!!! Any body else seen this about?
Still wouldn't mind losing the Touch-Wiz once the novelty of this wears off...

Just flashed the officialICS Telecom update.. been running it a little while.. will run this new stock for a while before i go back to custom roms like this one by CDTDroid. It runs nice. Touchwiz is easy to rid, just install apex or nova launchers for ICS.. No biggie
