Yeah, I read the first line and got carried away. Back to scrounging a favour from US family or friends for me then. Those fees are like death by a thousand paper cuts!

From the un boxing of the Nexus 7 there is a lot of spare space in the box, so anything like USB/OTG cable, Micro SD reader and 64G card, Nexus hard case, etc would all fit in the re boxed package. Even a digital camera, get shiito to consolidate and re box and save shipping costs

Still it is not that bad say 8% on $280 USD is $22 plus 8.50 lets say $30, and that gets around opening a US bank account getting a Visa Card. Signing up to a US VPN. For the grief one avoids I think it is worth it, and the monthly US Bank fees of $5.

But is assisted purchasing cheaper than using family in australia or purchasing from Clove? It might be just - but it's more of a pain

Thats assuming you have someone in Aus, which I have not. and Clove is this not a UK company 160 x 2 = 320 plus shipping and insurance from UK? How much is that?

If clove sell it maybe lets see does the 159 incl VAT which is 20% therefore 132.50 plus postage (used Galaxy 7 as dummy buy) 24, thats 156.50 x 2 = 313NZD, which looks pretty good, but will they get it? Also re web site google are charge 10 pounds delivery to uk address.

Other UK stores are apparently only getting the 16 GB version, I doubt Clove will be any different. Hopefully international purchases have VAT excluded like other products on the site

This is internationally standard practice - NZ sites selling offshore do not charge GST on outbound sales.

My post I'm stealing from XDA:

"Possibly the cheapest way to get a Nexus 7 outside of Play Store countries:

Buy it from http://www.clove.co.uk/ they haven't announced pricing yet but I'm assuming it will be 199 quid for the 16 GB model. International orders have VAT removed so that's 166 quid + shipping. For me in New Zealand that means it will be $371 NZD.

If I were to get family in Australia to buy and send me one would be around $440 NZD. From the US using shipito would be $400~ NZD, and that's if I do have an US credit card, which I don't

I've asked Clove to confirm that international orders will be 199 minus VAT just to make sure and will update this thread. Comparatively, if Amazon does something like this and will ship internationally their deal would be just as good"

Barnes and Noble is an Amazon partner by the looks of it and sells the Nook Tablet, the Kindle Fire's only competitor before this week so it is possible

Can you ask clove what insurance their airsure shipping covers or is it extra? Also do their have any dates for expected shipping?

Clove insures all packages, regardless of shipping method by the looks of it. Int Airmail Tracked is 3-7 working days but the FAQ mentions 14 days for Aus/NZ

You don't need a US credit card to use Shipito (it won't be cheaper than Clove regardless, but just thought I would let you know).

Should have my Nexus 7 by the end of this week hopefully...
