I hate telecom. they won't even let you buy it out right. JUST to get you on contract to squeeze every penny out of you

That is incorrect. This has already been pointed out. You can buy the phone without signing to a contract. Please check your facts.

Select "Pay Monthly", then "View more plan options" and then select an Open plan. No fixed contract and you're on your way.

This is not a contract. Buy the phone at full cost, pay for a month and walk away if you wish. $39 more to get it at launch if there are no other local options is surely not that much?

When a major product is launched, availability is usually limited. Telecom are looking after their customers and selling the product in a controlled manor. Vodafone have done the same thing when required (Previous iPhone releases etc).

You're complaining over $40 on a $1200 phone? And it's still not a contract.

I'm out of this line of dialog. Does not compute.

Hi Hamish, and welcome to Geekzone.

How did you find going from an iPhone to the Note 2 as far as physical size is concerned? Did it take long to adjust? There's quite a big difference!

Thanking you :-)

Had an overlap of a few weeks before the iphone 4 sold and was initially thinking id made a mistake.
As soon as the hand adjusted to the size(week or so tops) there was absolutely no going back for me.

I know there has a lot been said about different country variants. Most of the NZ sites I've checked list default values for options, does anyone know if the NZ models feature the following?

USB 3
4K UHD video playback

And lastly, the availability of the 64Gb model?
