Iphone screen is only 4 inches. Moto G is 4.5 inches. It is a great set up from my old Defy.

My Moto G arrived a few days ago from handtec.co.uk (I've used them before and it was a bit cheaper than Clove). Prior phone was Galaxy Nexus ("Nexus 3")

The great:
* nice screen
* responsive
* price
* OTG appears to work fine

The average:
* I got the 8GB version (oops, already filled it), shame no sdcard support.
* i suspect Moto Migrate causes some problems (photos no longer ordered by date. I ended up with all calendar items duplicated, might not have been migrate, possibly something to do with timezone config somewhere?).
* I needed to not select app migration (it kept causing the phone to not be able to update apps. No workaround. Only solution I found
was to factory reset phone and turn off automatic app install).
* I want a phone with a larger screen
* phone earpiece seems tinny (might just be Vodafone. Need to try Lumia 520 at work which has a great sound apparently)
* I could do with slightly more battery capacity or a removable battery.
* Chrome has a rendering problem on the tab selection, flashes black and can go blank.

The frustrating:
* Lots of Google+ prompts (no thank you)
* Other Google bumpf (I just want gmail, stop ramming other properties down my gullet)
* No international warranty (from what I skimmed).

Aside: I also recently bought a Huawei Y300 for a friend, great value for money.

Overall, I find the Moto G is a great, and I would recommend it. To get any improvements requires a big step in price.

Thanks for sharing your migrate experience as I'll be trying that out today. Now know what to avoid.

With Clove I've never had an issue in having to send back to them for warranty purposes, almost as helpful, if not more so, as your local.

You say your 8GB version is already filled ( with what ), I'm only interested because I bought the same 8Gb from Amazon USA, I don't take photos a lot nor store them and don't keep music so wondering if i've made the right decision, I bought the GSM global version

My S4 has total space 9.23GB (I thought it was 16GB?), 2.25GB apps, 5GB free. I have heaps of music on my memory card, along with backups, I'm using 6GB not including the backups. I would find 8GB quite limiting, though I could probably live within it by getting rid of the apps I usually use, taking images off it, and keeping a bit less music on there.

No music, half photos, half apps (trimmed back a lot). My old phone had a lot more apps, so I went with minimal apps on new phone and didn't reinstall any games.

I like to keep my photos on my phone as I refer back to them (and I don't upload them).

Ok Thanks, now I have to make the decision whether to go ahead, I still have time to cancel and just wait for the 16GB to become available... you use that many apps?

The Moto G comes with 50GB of space on Google Drive as well (if the 15GB of free Drive storage isn't enough).

If you've got 4GB of photos on your phone, surely some of that could be stored on Drive? If they must be stored on the phone then the Moto G probably isn't the best phone to use, for such a cheap price it can't cater for everyone's needs.

From Amazon UK $309 including around NZ$50 for direct express shipping. No need for YouShop when buying from Amazon UK.

I haven't used it as such, but I took it out of the box for a look at it and to charge it. It seems like a solid unit, curved back seems nice in the hand. It seems heavy for the size, but from memory it was 20% or so lighter than my S4 and case. It took around 5 days to deliver from the UK.

Thanx for the info.  I thought that you may have bought it from Amazon US that should work out about NZ$244 plus $27 Youshop to NZ = $271.  Out of stock on Amazon US again..

No word of any NZ retailers  / carriers apart from Mobicity (NZ$380)  taking it on here.

I could've gotten it down to more like $280 - $290 with regular shipping, which should've been fine, but I'd rather pay the extra $20 and be sure it was here for xmas.
