Personnally I just bought on eBay.com and already paid the GST and others taxes for a total of 1018 NZ$ and I should receive it before Noel Leeming and others get the M8 in store :-)

A little bit more expensive than the special NL deal ending today but I will get the 32gb version :-)

I bought an unlocked Developer Edition from Amazon... realise that the 4G may not work.. but on paper it has the bands all there so maybe can get it working on 4G here by flashing a TNZ/VF radio..
The all up landed cost including GST and Youshop shipping was $941.74. it will arrive tomorrow!

nakedmolerat: I'm surprised at the interest in this thread. I thought the camera is rubbish. Afaik S5 is far superior than M8

I'm surprised in the interest in the S5: $1,000+ for a phone that looks like it is made from crappier materials than most $199 phones. Each to their own.

I think too that the material is a shame for this price and kind of phone but after that each phone has very good specifications and depending on how you use it one will be better than the other.

And even if I am not really happy anymore with my iPhone 4, I have to admit that even if he felt so many times in 3 years, he never gave up thanks to his metal body :-)

HTC says:

Networks: LTE Quad Band (Bands 17/4/2/5); LTE MIMO; GSM/EDGE: Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 Hz), Class 12; UMTS: Tri-band (UMTS 850/1900/2100MHz), HSPA+Category 14xx (HSDPA 21Mbps/ EDCH 5.7 Mbps);

Ouch. No DC-HSPA+, no 900MHz 3G, no useful 4G. Unless you're using it on Telecom/Skinny, you'll not have a great time with this device in NZ, more's the pity. :(

Fortunately I am on Telecom XT network, and where I live they don't have 4G coverage yet, and probably wont util they deploy the 700Mhz allocation.. so it gives me a while to try and flash some 4G life into it :p...

i received my gunmetal gray HTC one m8 earlier today, this might sound familiar to people, but man is this thing gorgeous! Even people at work who normally couldnt care less are really liking this phone.

Just need to go to vodafone now and get a nano sim. Does anyone no if it costs for a nano sim?

If you're already on account with Vodafone, they shouldn't charge you for it.

I can't be the only one who thinks the M8 is super ugly and a step in the wrong direction from the original One design-wise can I? The rounding on the back and the hideous grey.. get it away from me! Haha.

No, you wouldn't be the only one but I am willing to bet you are in the minority.

Are you mainly concerned with the larger bezel/larger footprint altogether? Or is there something else?
