This is a review unit, from HTC.

Any idea/suggestion when/if the m10 is going to be released here (I assume you are in contact with HTC if they supplied you with a review unit)

My m7 and its warrantee replacement have both died on overnight charge in the official HTC charger. (the later one this morning)

So I am actively looking to buy m10. I want to buy from a shop but without some sort of idea when, I might have to source one myself.

Thanks for any help/insight.

I sent a message directly to HTC via their New Zealand Facebook page last week, asking when they thought the 10 would be available through carriers here, and (somewhat cruelly, I admit) questioning their commitment to release when the profile picture on the page is still the One M9. Several hours later I got this reply:

Hi Andrew, Thanks for getting in touch with your question. Sorry to say we have no updates on the HTC 10 for New Zealand at this stage. We will be sure to keep you in the loop if this chages through our Facebook page. Thanks again for getting in touch. HTC

I'll be upgrading at the end of August and if there's still no news then it will probbaly be the Huawei P9 for me.

I think they have abandoned the nz market but don't want to actually say so for pr reasons.

HTC posts on facebook say "At this stage there are no updates on the HTC 10 being available in New Zealand. We will be sure to get in touch if this changes. Thanks, HTC"

Interesting to see that its "if this changes" not "when this changes"

HTCnz is dead

(Might just be that they don't sell enough here to maintain the costs of setting up a warrantee/service.

Going bust because the quality of phones would be sad but going bust when people want to buy their phones would be stupid)

No, I got it from the Australian PR. The HTC person had left to Huawei months ago.

android authority: After just two months of stocking the HTC 10, T-Mobile has decided it would rather dedicate that shelf space to something else. The HTC 10 has been pulled from T-Mobile's online offerings and T-Mobile staff have confirmed that no more stock will be delivered to brick and mortar stores.

The fact that HTC didn't even try to sell it in New Zealand direct to customers makes me wonder whether they even care that they're losing marketshare and losing money.

After three htc phones, I come to the realization my next one will be something else.

Might try one of hte new Nexus phone when the come out.

You do realise these are only rumours at this stage. It seems highly likely though HTC will be one of the manufacturers however nothing officially confirmed as yet.
