Trade in values are up.  No mention of a $300 boost like there was with the Note 9.  Disappointing.

Meanwhile, 2degrees are trying to tempt me to "upgrade"...

Wait a second... Is this how the Buy One, Get One offers work?

It all adds up because if you buy through PB tech (and get the bundle) you should (hopefully) get the $100 account credit and the six months of half price cell phone plan.

The six months half price plan is actually a decent benefit.  I got then when I brought my S8+ a couple of years ago.  2D had just started their 25gb for $70 plan so I sat on that for the six months ($35) and built up over a 100gb of carry over data.  As soon as the special ended I dialed the plan down to the minimum amount I could cos hey, I have lots of carry over data and never make actual voice calls.  I then shared the data with the wife and kids (no cost) and they are on the cheapest $9 prepaid pack just to get some text messages.  It's taken me two years with everyone doing all the streaming they want and I have just about got down to zero gb.  I will go back up to the $70 plan for a month or two to build it back up.  When you add in the free hour of data clock per day (which I and the kids use any time I start streaming anything) thats a fairly good deal and adds up to a decent saving across the whole family.  In my opinion having a decent amount of carry over data is better than an unlimited data plan because you can hotspot the data, share it with family and once you have built up a decent chunk you can dial the plan back down.  Yay for NZ not being in the $20 for 1gb world any more.

2d is the best telco imho.  I just wish they had better 4g coverage in the country like Spark does.

If you look at Vodafone through Noel Leeming I think you get 512GB for 128GB + $200 off + power bank + unlimited plan for $59 per month(save $20 per month) - which comes out better. Not sure how Vodafone rate on reception though.

So far the PBTech offer looks like the best one.  I don't want the buds because I hate having something inside my ear canal, that's why I spent good money to get the Bose Quiet Comfort II headphones.  So therefore I prefer to be able to choose something else other than the Samsung Galaxy Buds.  A wireless charging dock + fast power bank is not too bad and I guess it couldn't hurt to have more built in memory, especially since it is very fast (giving it an advantage compared to just plugging in a micro SD card.

It does look like the trade-in Samsung offers in NZ is not as good as in the US.  I saw mention of US$200 trade-in for the S7Edge, but here the highest offered is ~NZ$200 which is quite a bit less.

I have a spare XS Max not being used I’m thinking of using as a trade in but I was hoping for a boost. Hopefully lacklustre pre orders pushes an added boost to move units.

Went and tried note 10 + out and shocked to see size same as my note 8 and shop assistant had note 9 which actually seemed bigger and also note 10+ seemed lighter than my note 8. Was really comfortable and felt really good in hand so changed mind now might get one but wait for better specials as nothing appeals and price just too expensive so probably have to wait until xmas specials see then.Liked the stainless steel frame now better, and aura glow looked fantastic but you wouldn't want to put case on it would spoil effect(but no case you would scared of dropping such expensive phone).

So, I've decided I'll preorder a Note 10+ from PB Tech with the wireless charger/powerbank bundle.  Now for the hard decision: Aura Black or Aura Glow?

Also gsm arena specks still says stainless steel

https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note10+-9732.php

Still use free plastic case that came with my note 8(bit scratched) so i hope note 10 comes with one otherwise i will have to probably get spigen case.Learnt my lesson buying too many cases from note 7 $300 worth of cases no refunds so waste of money just threw in bin so just keep to one basic clear one.

I've used the Samsung military case on my Note 9 since day 1.

I can recommend it, it's been a great case, and the kickstand is useful.
The Note 10 version has two kickstand.
It's not a case for those who like thin cases though.

Had a play with the Note 10+ at Noel Leeming today. It’s amazing how a new product immediately makes the last gen Note 9 sitting right next to it feel old, even though its not.

Phone feels thinner and smaller than i expected. The screen definitely looks awesome. Looks like a sticker plastered on top.

Can’t say I’m completely sold on it though. The price is definitely too much for me considering how often the Galaxy S10 had deals/sales/BOGO. Snagged the Note 9 last month for $850 during the Noel Leeming/PBTech sales.

If anybody is on the fence about it, I definitely think wait for a BOGO. There will be people trying to sell off their second phone on Trademe for a good price.
