networkn: It's morally bankrupt. 2D are trying to provide value for money and add competition in the market. Doing this punishes them for being flexible and pricing their products to your benefit.

I have no love for 2D but I would be exceptionally dissapointed to see people manipulating the offer like that!

You're right of course - but it's commerce, so morals don't really come into it.

kirip: So the 2degrees email has The Samsung Galaxy S III is yours FREE on a Pay Monthly $89 Plan with a 24 month term ($1049 RRP). I was just looking into early termination fees (as I don't need as expensive plan and will likely not be in NZ for 24months, probably should just buy out right).
"The early termination charge is the amount calculated by multiplying your monthly Plan charge by the
number of months remaining on the term of your Plan as at your final Billing Date, provided that:
for the $89, $129,and $149 Plans the early termination charge shall not exceed $500"

This would essentially mean that I could get the phone on the $89 plan and then terminate plan by paying $500 (I assume you have to pay at least one month so total const $589)

So can anyone think of anything stopping me from signing up to the plan and then exiting the contract (thus getting the phone for essentially the early termination fee)?

I called up and they said this was the case. If you sign up for the $89 plan and cancel you keep the phone and just pay the $500. Weird.

They couldn't find any reference to getting the s3 free on the $89 plan though. What email was that in. I will probably sign up for that plan.

Hmm I am still thinking dark colours would be my preference, interested in the scratches.

networkn: sidders: have you come from an Apple background or had a white phone before (Not trying to be rude, just trying to measure).

I have. This will be my first android after 4 -5 years of being an iPhone user which is possibly why I want the white one. Although, as was mentioned earlier in the thread by someone else, I don't see the blue holding up well in the future as a colour of favour.

Sure phones are generally black and now white has come along in recent years and done fairly well, but no matter how hard I look at it the blue just seems cheap looking regardless of what material it might or might not be made of.

Personal opinion only of course Wink

I was in the blue team but this delay made me open my eyes properly to the white.
I like the white now and am glad i swapped. As i said before, the blue looks tacky. It's like someone removed the covers and done a quick spray paint job.
Just reminds me of companies who change the color of a product a year down the track just so they can sell more of it no matter what it looks like.

But as i always say 'each to their own'. The world would be boring if we were all the same.

I still don't understand NZ thinking to do with having to prove your manly.

As I said this will be my first Smartphone so was wondering would it make much difference if we had a cover on as to what color the actual phone is??? wouldn't the actual colour be hidden anyways???
