Yep pull down the top bar with two fingers side by side, there's a power saving icon. Turn that off and the screen gets a lot brighter.

Under My Device there is Power Saving Mode, which contains a  "Screen Power Saving" option?

Why oh why does Android not have built in functionality so I can select a media file like a MP3 and long hold it in explorer and make it my ringtone or txt message notification.

If you long press on the file?
I can't test atm as I gave the s4 to my mrs, but that's how she set it the other day.

EDIT: she used the music player and long pressed the song in that.

I'm using stock, it works fine. I recently put CyanogenMod (however it's spelt) onto my TF101 tablet. It performs fine, battery life is good, and there's no crud on it, but WiFi performance dropped quite a bit.

The GER (google edition) roms available on XDA are quite good if you like Bare bones. I tried Slim bean for a week its very sleek.

Just as a follow on from my recent issues re battery life, I've turned off location services as suggested previously, and also turned fast dormancy off as that seemed to top the kernel wakelocks . I'm on Telecom. The fast dormancy seems to have decreased now.

Anyone tried the Echo rom? Seems to look the goods.

Edit, horrible boot and shutdown animations, otherwise so far so good.

I'm using SVA v3.5. It's the only rom available for the dual sim S4. Seems to going okay and I'm getting decent battery life.
