Damager: Just as a follow on from my recent issues re battery life, I've turned off location services as suggested previously, and also turned fast dormancy off as that seemed to top the kernel wakelocks . I'm on Telecom. The fast dormancy seems to have decreased now.

What is fast dormancy, and how do you turn it off?

Interesting, thanks. I keep mobile data turned off when I'm not actively using it, and fast dormancy is using 0.0% of my battery, so I think I'll leave it at defaults for now.

I was on Omega V12 and Google Location service was draining my battery hard out, thought I try a different rom.

Installed Foxhound v2.0 looks really good but had the same Google Location service bug.

That bug wasn't there on Omega V11 maybe the new XXUDMl1 build roms have that bug?

I have been playing Plants vs Zombies 2 and man it sucks the battery. How do you know the Google Location Service is sucking your battery? I should check that too since I have Omega v12

Every time I check my Battery (through settings etc) I have Google Service on the top and it stays up there until I restart my phone and during that time I get notification of checking my location etc.

Yes I could turn the location and GPS off but it didnt happen when I was on Omega V11

Man tell me about it. PvZ2 just hammers the battery. Fun game but you can't play for it long being away from charger.

If you're on Telecom then you need Fast Dormancy disabled. If not then the battery life will suffer. The inverse is true for other networks.

Bought from Telecom on release day. Was stock until 2 weeks ago. Amazing i stayed stock for so long, apart from being rooted, but I was pretty happy with stock performance, and in all honesty, since I've gone custom, my battery life hasn't been as good, but some tweaks and I'm back to good again.
