I'll give it a couple more days to see how it works out.
I do sync a lot and have 2 exchange and 1 google account on it.

Ok have just reset it and started to load apps on again

When I first set it up I did not do it as a new device so that could have explained the battery drain

A little still getting a bit of drain, have turned LTE off as only get 1 bar at work and just testing that (3g i get full bars).

Most of the time I am on wireless so not to worried about mobile data speed.

I am just reading up on what people are doing to get better battery life. I think it could also be our networks in NZ

I was using a UK sourced model for a few months, and I would usually be down to 30-40 by the evening. I ended up disabling LTE, for network related issues, but this didn't make a significant difference. I never got close to this sort of battery life with the Nexus 5, the HTC One M8 i'm currently using gets down to under 20 by the end of the day.

My flatmate got the same phone from the same source and it gets charged every 2-3 days, so the use case can make a significant difference.

Yeah but seems odd that my experience is so much better yet I've done nothing to my device (in terms of battery saving tweaks). Also, the global feedback seems to be that my experience is more the norm... and meets the specs of the handset - seems yours isn't.

I can see how it would last 3 days etc but you would not be using it that much.

Last night i was up to 2.5 hours screen time and 20 hours stand by (4 of those were airplane mode) and was on about 40% when i put it back on the charge.

But reading up some people are getting 8 hours screen time and 2 days stand-by.

I think the problem i have is that i am watching it drain and thinking my 1+ was at a higher amount at this time of the day.

I have order a few more charging docks for work and home so that should keep me happy.
I really do love the phone and I think i will get the z4 compact when it comes out, I like the design and don't mind the sony launcher

I believe Sony manage the screen refresh quite well, so when viewing text or similar it refreshes only parts of the screen, which makes a significant difference to the power usage of the device.

I would find this a bit of a problem. I'm sure I was getting in excess of 3 hours a day. And everything was on, BT, Wifi, and Sync. With the N5 on the other hand, I did have to charge it during the day.

Quick thing about the waterproofing... you can actually test without water.

Get a weather app or cpuZ or any barometer app that uses the internal barometer, run the app and gently squeeze the phone.
If the pressure goes up a bit (it will fall again even if you hold it) your phone should be waterproof. Open a port and try again... the pressure wont move.
If the pressure stays the same with all the ports closed, it's not waterproof!

"High school physics:
Pressure = Force/Area
In this case the area is the air in the phone and the force is your squeezing. If you increase the force but the air cannot escape and thus stays the same, the pressure must increase.
If the phone was not airtight then the air would escape when you squeeze so Force would increase but Area would decrease proportionally and pressure would stay basically the same."

And what time do you take it off and put it back on the charge?
you at about 30% when you do it?

Currently I have bluetooth on as I need it for my watch, but have wifi etc auto turn on/off via the power saving etc

I have 2 gmail accounts, 1 syncing just mail, the other one syncing mail, contacts, photo upload, calendar, app settings etc (no movies/drive/google+)
I have 1 work exchange account via the mail program nine

I have skype, office Haxsync twitter and facebook installed by not on auto sync

Oh and spotify which i use in the car via bluetooth.
GPS is on but battery saving mode.
Logging has been turned off for GPS/Sony etc
Google Now is on however as my watch uses it

Like I said, it could just be me with my brain set to the "1+ was at 82% at this time of day but the sony is at 75%"

My 1+ was running cyanogenmod and they are very good at doing power savings in their roms.

Off at 6am, BT for Podcasts morning and evening, BT LE all day for android wear. Didn't use the Wifi power saving option. 2 Gmail accounts syncing, one mail and ingress, the other, everything. No Skype, but Play Music & Spotify. Using it to cast Plex in the evenings. Back on the charge between 10 and 11pm.

Location on High battery mode reporting on G+.

Does the battery usage indicate apps that are chewing more than they should?
