Model is EVA-L09, current build EVA-L09C900B137. It's a single SIM phone with an SD card slow.

Is there any relatively easy way to update to Android 7? I'd prefer to stay with the Huawei firmware, rather than Lineage / Cyanogenmod.

Maybe I should stop messing with it and stay on Android 6, then buy a phone locally with decent support some time. Seems a shame not to use this phone though, it's good hardware and generally works ok. EMUI 4.1 is just a touch quirky.

Thanks for those instructions. My 2Degress P9+ is now updated to B300 and all is good.

Why's that? Do you think the international version will release an automatic update at some point? Android 7 has been out for the P9 for ages, if it hasn't updated by now I wonder if it ever will.

They are rolling the NZ update for the P9 now, they are going to release the NZ update for the lite and plus in the next quarter. If that doesn't happen just complain alot, which will put pressure on them and then they will release it.

As discussed above, I seem to have the international model, not the nz model.

as far as i know its no different you just need to find the firmware you want

Im not 100% sure it's a development version. Think it was a development build. I doubt it will get any further ota updates. There is a table out there that shows all the versions and what country/vendor they are assigned to but I can't recall where. Good luck. I know I had to spend some money, less than $50, to use dc pheniox software to change country and vendor codes then use the Eva factory Image (supplied by dc Phenix) then step through 3 or 4 full ota updates. That's about all I can recall. Was about a year ago. Was running Android 7 c900 image I think but changed it to c432. Was a tad tedious but got there in the end.

Apparently Huawei will be trying to be better at doing updates in future. Story here, but no mention of the P9.

Totally pathetic Huawei, if you're listening - which I doubt. As I have said earlier in this thread, I actually quite like my P9+ except that has not been updated for over a year - and as a result I'll never buy Huawei again.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Yeah I forced the Android 7 release onto my P9+ but I should never have had to.

Running VIE-L09C706B300 currently, but still no updates since the 5th of Aug.

Just not good enough.
