Recently (last week) upgraded to 2.2, and I'm running JP6 which i got through Kies. I foolishly let facebook synchronise with my calendar, and now it's saturated with facebook events I don't want there. I go to delete them, but facebook events don't show in the delete list! Help!

I can beat that! I am trying to sync my phone to my MKI9200 Car kit and it won't do it automatically and when I send the bluetooth contacts, instead of just my activesync contacts which are all that is displayed, when I go to select all, inside are all my fecking gmail contacts!

I am starting to get really over android.

I am not sure if these problems are phone specific, brand specific, version specific (2.1 vs 2.2) or platform specific!

Right... all WCDMA handsets are quand band GSM (2G) .. but not all are quad band 3G which includes both 850 and 900 3G bands.. unless its the likes of the iPhone 4G which has both 850 and 900 3G bands..

so did Telecom say it would be "Quad Band GSM" or "Quad Band 3G"?

rfast: Ordered a sgs from Noel Lemmings on Sat - told it was on back order, went in today and found out that they won't be getting any more in until at least 7 november!!!. Samsung were rung and apparently told the salesman that there were none in the country.

was told to come back on the 10th - must be still being built --  maybe it will include 2.2?

Hrmm, I ordered one during the weekend as well, though I've not heard anything apart from the confirmation e-mail when I put through the purchase.

The 10th is a wee while away, though I wonder if I need to be proactive and contact Noel Leeming to get any info, or just wait till they contact me.  I do see that on the NL website it is now listed as "Item on order (3-4 days lead time, subject to availability)

I did notice that my available balance on my credit card has decreased already though.

Hmmm..

I've had my SGS since Saturday, and had already noticed a slowdown with only installing around 10 apps.

Just installed the Voodoo lagfix tonight (no problems with 3-finger mode for me), and it really is well worth doing straight away.

Just to clarify is that none in the country (at any store) or none available at any of the NL stores?
Wondering, as my partner said she may buy one as an early birthday present for me

When I spoke to the lady at 1st Mobile in Wanaka on Saturday, she said there were none south of Motueka, and only 18 in the country at that time - and the ones on backorder seem to be an allocation, so there's pretty much no ETA - they just 'arrive'.

Not a good look when it's VF's flagship Android phone, and they can't get any stock.

And just to rub it in, another Vodafone staff member tried to sell me a Nexus One instead, because it's "basically a better phone in every way". . . . .

Quad band 3G was what they were emphasising, will have to wait to Wednesday to find out.

don't forgot to uninstall voodoo prior to upgrading your firmware with kies or odin, otherwise you phone may turn into an expensive doorstop.

Duly noted KJ - thanks for the reminder.

Just out of interest, has anyone actually managed to irrevocably brick their SGS?  I'm not really talking about failed hardware due to overclocking etc, but flashing custom ROMs etc - so long as you can do the 3-finger restart, are you pretty safe?
