Anyone else is getting this phone?

Pre-order from Telecom NZ $999 including Free Sony NFC wireless speaker $149 (Delivery on the 14th of March)

Vodafone : coming soon

Clove.co.uk : GBP 435 (~nz$800) with free wireless speaker

Mobicity.co.nz : coming soon ($949 excl GST)

After considering all the above, pre-ordered mine from Telecom NZ. I need to replace my shattered Motorola Defy.

Edit: I decided to get it from NZ because this phone has 24 months warranty. It will be easier to deal future warranty issue here rather than through Clove.

Will you do one of your famous reviews, please?

I will be seriously considering one of these as an alternative to an S4 to replace my S2 - having skipped a generation with the S3.

The Experia Tablet Z sounds brilliant too but I'm not sure I want to replace my iPad with that.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I cant wait for your hands on/reviews, they are alot more in depth than the normal ones out there.

I had preordered mine from clove, only to cancel it once the S4 announcement date was confirmed, im waiting on that to see if I get an S4 or the Z

I was really keen on the Z, with the sexy design and the waterproof-ness. After reading quite a few reviews, I've decided the camera - while being 13mp - is no better than the S3, Note I or II. In fact, I would rate it as pretty horrible especially in low light conditions. There's plenty of reviews online already. Then again, photo quality may not be an important aspect for everyone.

Anyway, still keen to hear more reviews especially from NZTechFreak!

Haven't bought a mobile from a store in a long time but i am considering getting it from Telecom. If I do, will it be all Telecom branded with their own firmware? Cause that always puts me off.

Another 5" Phone! I wants it, but 5" is just too big I think. I used all my love at VF getting my S3, so I'd have to buy this outright which I can't seem to get my head around right now.

I really want a DC/LTE phone though honestly it's just gadget love as I have no need for mobile data at 100Mbit :)

Wondering how much faster these processors are in this generation of phone compared to the S3 as I often feel my S3 is sluggish. Perhaps I need a wipe/reset?

This is Android, so you can always flash with whatever you want. I don't see this as an issue at all.

The firmware isn't locked down at all making it harder to flash? And there is no Telecom logo on the hardware? Like I said, been a while, don't know how they do things anymore.

Can't be absolutely certain myself. If you are happy to wait, once I got the phone, I'll update the thread.

I'm fairly certain you'll be able to flash other ROMs over the Telecom one, although you will soften your warranty support by unlocking the bootloader via Sony's process (there are reports of Sony turning down hardware-related warranty claims on the basis of people having officially unlocked their handsets).

Anyone able to give me some idea how much faster this processor is over the one in the 1GB NZ S3?

interested in getting one. mobicity :)

White or black? I prefer black but probably go for white as it isn't a total fingerprint magnet. They're there but aren't as noticeable with white.

Mine arrived today. If fingerprints bother you definitely go for the white one, the black one is a finger print magnet the likes of which I have never seen...

I had a play with one today. Nice but I was underwhelmed.
