I see there hasn't been a topic on this yet.

I have just received mines, have been using it for a week or so. Loving the device so far, battery life i can easily get 5 hours of screen time a day and still have around 30 percent battery left.

Has anyone got theirs yet?

I have also come from an iPhone 5, and haven't been able to get used to the Android OS, any suggestions on must have apps or other experiences from switching from iOS to make it easier?
One of my annoyances is the notification, i have to slide down the notification to open up a SMS or Whatsapp, as it is a pretty big device its not as convenient with iOS having the actually notification on the lockscreen. I know that Android L has the solution, but is there a temporary solution? I am tempted to flash the paranoid android ROM, it has the peek feature that may solve my problem.
My other annoyance is the keyboard, somehow it feels laggy, iOS was much smoother.

I personally cannot stand the default android keyboard, Hence why every device I've owned in the past 2 years has had SwiftKey installed as soon as it's turned on.

Download slidelock. It will sort out your notification problem. You can tap it from the lockscreen, or swipe to clear it. Where did you purchase the phone from?

How do you find the camera?

here is a link for the app

I will carry on with this thread since I think you are asking more about the change from iOS to android than the handset itself.

One of the hardest aspects for iOS users moving to android is that there isnt a standardised layout for apps.  Although google are trying to address this in android L, devs can basically put whatever toggles they like whereever they like.  However the back, home and menu keys at the bottom of the screen soon become second nature.
I would suggest you consider what you used to use your iphone for and if you want to do similar with your 1+ 1. Then explore the Play store for similar apps. If you are lucky those apps may even have widgets associated with them that allow direct interaction without having to open the app.

May I also suggest you get the following apps:

A file manager, since you now have access to your own files!  I use ASTRO and ES file managers/explorers.

A sms app if you dont like the stock one.  I use HandcentSMS it has a popup screen that allows immediate replies without pulling down the notifications or launching ther app (iI dont use whatsapp so cant comment), but there are many others but this one can be made to look like iOS if you are homesick.  Likewise there are other email apps if you dont like stock (I use K-9 because it has a tasker plugin).

A music player/manager.  I use Poweramp, but it is a paid app (has free trial). Lots of settings and controls to play with.

A whole new homescreen launcher if you really want to do it your own way.  I have tried ADW, Launcherpro, Go and action launchers in the past but at this stage have settled on Apex across all my devices.

Don't like the keyboard? You could try Swype, SlideIT, Swiftkey, even the stock google keyboard.  Many can be skinned, and once again there are even ones that look and act like iOS if you prefer that.  At the moment I prefer the google keyboard.

Ther are also widget packages such as Beautiful Widgets and HD Widgets which allow you to customise your screens even further.

There are many more but that should get you started.

I will be interested to see how you like the 1+ 1 once you get used to android, it looks like an awesome handset.

If you don't like the stock SMS I would recommend evolve or hellosms. Smooth and quick to open, I find Go, Chomp and Handcent quite laggy.

Android L keyboard is available on the store and is really nice to use.

Oops, i guess there have been posts on this device.

Thanks for the replies though. I will try Swiftkey, Can't find the Android L keyboard.

The 1+1 has the AOSP keyboard, is that the same as the google keyboard?

Camera on the 1+1 is amazing, video recording at 4k even though I have only being playing it on a 1440p monitor.

Sony Xperia keyboard is also very good, and available for non-sony devices from Google Play.

I shall try the Xperia Keyboard too

I also want to add that I am just amazed at this $400 phone, the quality of this Chinese phone and also the packaging was one of the best little phone unboxing I've unboxed :P

Fire away any other questions you guys would like to know about the phone, I'll try answer them the best I can.

Is there a way of merging this post with the others?

And I also.

How do the invites work? If you get one and buy one, do you get some to hand out? If that is the case, everyone here could get one easily.
