I've been out of the smart phone loop since I got my basic work phone. Its broken and replacements are windows phone based, completely incompatible with my android apps. As work has a BYOD policy in place, I intend to replace the work supplied one with my own android based phone.
I have a budget of approximately $750. I'm not bothered about imported vs. retail here, but I do care that the bands work on 2degrees or Vodafone.
Basic spec is:
- Decent 5" plus screen
- 32GB ROM
- 3GB RAM
- MicroSD slot
- Android 6 with upgrades likely.
- Not touch wiz based as I can't stand it, unless I can be compelled with an awesome hardware spec.
- Would prefer removable battery
- 3000mAh or there abouts
- Wireless charging would be cool, but not necessary.. If I get it added later that is fine too.
- no stutter, lag when doing things.
- Scratch resistant glass
- Decent camera for still photos, not so concerned about videos.
Now, this must have a decent email client installed that doesn't limit size of emails as I will connect it to my work and personal exchange servers, should also have minimal bloat installed and if it does would prefer that they can be uninstalled.
Don't really play games on it to be honest, but might if it is fast enough!
Like the idea of a metal unibody, but polycarbonate would be ok too.
What would people recommend for my budget? I've seen the Huawei P9 and like the camera and look/shape. Apparently hardware is a little underwhelming compared to others but competent enough for general use.. Any others?
Cheers,
Chris
