Non rooted SGS owners only. Wasn't it supposed to be released today?

Same :) but then again mines a Clove purchased Galaxy S, did you mean who's got it who has a Vodafone NZ Galaxy? Because the Clove/UK official ones have been out for a week

No lag fix on mine yet and hasn't been rooted and it's running smoothly still :)

Someone mentioned that it was meant to be today, don't know where they got their info from.

Got my phone from mobicity.co.nz, it updated to Froyo (JPO) sometime last week. I have since put custom Doc rom on the phone. I think the phone was originally sourced from Germany based on the kies registry code.

I downloaded the latest version of Kies last Saturday morning and used it to update my unrooted SGS (ex Clove UK) to 2.2 without any hassles.

I have to say that, although there is widespread criticism of Kies (including previously by me), Kies worked perfectly and did what was said on the box. Kies kept all of my contacts and apps intact including the data for those apps eg. all my three-star games of Angry Birds, my locations in Co-Pilot, etc. I didn't have to restore anything from my back-up.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

And still, those who bought their phones in NZ wait for the official froyo update.

Heh, at least we're not in the same boat as Indian customers who were told that Froyo isn't coming till Jan 2011. Well, I hope we're not in the same boat. lol

I wasn't rooted, but I did do the Kies (Windows) registry hack to trick Kies into updating my Galaxy S to the JP6 Froyo intended for Europe. It works fine here. I ran it for several weeks un-rooted.

lots of ppl have updated thru kies with overseas phones without hack.  I think people want to know when the non parallel imported handsets from vodafone and telecom get the update.
