One of my Firestick 4K's stopped displaying the Home screen and the message was to restart. That didn't work and neither id a factory reset. But on reset it found the WiFi network.  Then I tried my other Firestick and that had the same problem. Can't be coincidence that both have failed at the same time. To eilminate my own network as an issue conneceted one of them to my phone (Vodafone) and the same error.

So I am wondering if there is an issue with the Amazon Firestock home page server but Googling didn't produce any other people complaining.

Any other folks out there with this device and having the same problem?  Thanks

I have one in the kitchen and have found that its been just showing a black video signal and no way to wake it up, when I power cycle it then I get the homescreen message, if I leave it for an hour or so then come back and its either working, or doing the black screen and no response to the remote thing again.

I just tried tethering my Firestick to my phone and it worked okay. So I think it's a problem with my Proxy service Getflix.

Interestingly with Getflix I can still access Amazon US content and other content that require the proxy service on other devices.

I had this problem when I didnt have my 5GHz wifi (which the stick was connected to) locked to good wifi channels - but I had symptoms on several other devices too like my KEF LS50W speakers and my cellphone.. do you know if the sticks are connecting to 5GHz?

It just started working on one of my devices (can't check the other) so either Getflix made a change after my support request or there was intermittent problem in the network somewhere.

I always connect to my 2.4GHz network since for some reason my Firesticks can't see the 5GHz one

I can't access the home screen on my Fire TV box. Just get black screen with 3 dots on the bottom right roaring. Reboot does nothing. Currently using my Apple TV3 box to watch.. Not the best feed.

Not sure if you are using a proxy server but I am so rather than resetting all the proxies as Getflix told me,  I tethered it to my phone and then restarted my Firestick. The home screen came up and I was able to see apps which I could not before. I could even play content but of course kept it to a minimum given I was using mobile data. Then changed the network back to my home Internet and the home screen came back. And this after doing a factory reset, restart a couple of times which on reflection I didn't need to since my other Firestick had the same problem but it was fixed by doing the same process.

Thanx for that.  I also use Getflix  and if I reset the network back to local with DHCP  I get the home screen but just the NZ programs one.  When I set it back to fixed IP and Getflix DNS  I see the top menu bar and the  three dots  and no home screen or any others.

Last nite the Apple TV was so bad I ended up using the  Amazon video app on my tablet and casting it to my CC Ultra.  No problems there except for  NZ programs only.

Will ask Getflix  what's up with their DNS .  This is the first time since I joined them 3 years ago I've had to log a ticket.

These are the instructions they sent me which I didn't follow :-)

Try following these steps

1.) Remove our DNS from network configuration.

2.) Restart Fire TV (FTV) and router, you should get the home screen.

3.) Update your FTV firmware and apps.

4.) Restart your device.

5.) Set up our DNS directly on you FTV. You have manual here

6.) Restart Fire TV and try access home screen.

That's because I have so many devices relying on their proxy it would have broken them all. Plus I could not see any easy way to set up the DNS on the Firestick (not the FireTV).  Using the mobile network effectively removed their DNS since I was now using Vodafone's. And once I restarted on Mobile, re-installed all apps (I had lost them through the factory reset) and then switched back to their DNS, all was fixed.

Thanx. This is the only device I have with a manual DNS set on it.  I have logged a fault with Getflix and they have asked for a screenshot of the network settings.   Will let you know the outcome.

I'm in a similar situation. Summary of activity to date.

- Using GetFlix and a FireTV (box not stick) to access Amazon Prime US

- Issue started 3 days ago, working fine for years prior to then. Home screen just shows the 3 cycling dots and then the 'Cannot Connect To Our Servers' message.

- Tried hot-spotting through my mobile as mentioned above - Home screen works fine but obviously US content will not play

- Reverting to wired network results in issue returning.

- Casting Amazon Prime US from either Chrome or the iOS app to my Chromecast works fine (albeit the occassional lag) so the issue appears to be specific to the FireTV / GetFlix interaction.

Will be following with interest

An update on this.  After a bit of tooing and frooing with Getflix ( I do wonder about their tech support actually reading the email chain)  I now have about 70% of the home screen appearing and can play some video stuff like the news and Pluto TV  but not stuff in my list or Amazon originals just a black screen with the three dots.

I put one of their DNS entries in to my Apple 3 TV box and   Amazon video and the US content   works fine so I'll use this until  Getflix fixes their part.  I've come to the conclusion that there is some issue between the Fire TV, Getflix and Amazon video.  I will as a last resort default the Fire TV but shouldn't have to as it works fine with a NZ DNS on NZ content.

Hi, I have the identical problem with a Getflix DNS. My Fire TV Cube will connect to the homescreen via a mobile phone, but the initial problem reoccurs a day or so after returning to a wired connection. Has anyone found a solution? Thanks.

No it happened to me again tonight. So I switched to mobile, got the home screen populated and then went back to home Internet. Annoying. Guess I need to ask Tech Support again

No resolution here as well. So far tech support have suggested I change the 2nd DNS from East to West  and visa versa, change to their  NZ DNS, change the HDMI cable, default the box all of which I have done for them and still  no joy.

Have gotten their US DNS set on my Apple TV box  and Amazon US works fine and have put the DNS on the Fire TV back to 8.8.8.8   so that I can get local content Amazon  if I need to .

All I can suggest is that @NotReally log a fault with Getflix.  If they get enough they may try and fix it.
