Reuters says that Microsoft and Motorola confirmed talks about development of a new Windows Mobile Smartphone to be launched by Orange. Oragen is also working on an alternative Palm based smartphone for business customers.

The market for smartphones is expected to reach 36 million units this year, says Michael King, an analyst with research consultancy Gartner.
