Last month, Microsoft announced its anti-spam initiative, designed to help combat the proliferation of spam, the unwanted, often deceptive commercial e-mail sent to consumers. MS Press published an interviewed Tim Cranton, a senior attorney at Microsoft in charge of defining legal strategies in the spam lawsuits, and Stirling McBride, a senior investigator at Microsoft in charge of identifying and tracking down alleged spammers discovered by Microsoft technical teams.

Texas instruments claim its new complete hardware and software solution enables consumers to simultaneously use Bluetooth and 802.11 wireless LAN (WLAN). Using this solution, manufacturers of mobile phones, smartphones, PDAs and laptops can overcome the coexistence problems inherent to close range 802.11b/g and Bluetooth operations because they share the 2.4 GHz band.

SMS Spam to be targeted in Australia

Australian mobile phone companies which allow SMS spam messages to be sent across their networks face fines of up to $10 million under a new industry code.
