jzcrazy90: no i already know how to tranfer files. i want to know how to get my xbox to run of my pc internet

jzcrazy90 - this should work using internet connection sharing in win XP or 2000 - you will just need to configure your xbox to get its IP settings via DHCP and turn on the connection sharing feature on the PC.

Myself I use a broadband router and just have the IP of the router set as the default gateway on my xbox - you also can set DNS servers.

If you have a modded box the latest version of Xbox Media Centre has links to sites like launch.com for streaming music videos - these work great on a TV screen and have pretty good sound quality also.

hi. Double check all the settings, you might also wanna shutdown any firewalls, just to see if its not the firewall blocking you. Make sure your computer ip is set to 192.168.0.1. Try reinstalling flashfxp. You could also try using a diffrent ftp program, i have yet to come by that error so im not too sure how to correct it. ill see what i can do. cheers

Thanks alot for your help,
This may be a silly question, but how do I make sure I don't have any firewalls up?

Hey,
I turned my firewall off, but I still got the same error message. As far as I can see, all my settings are correct as well.

If anyone has this problem again, it may be because they need to change their user name to x3 and their password to x3.
Thanks for the help.

You sure can!

My boyfriends mate did this with something he calls a "softmod"

I see him go to http://www.xbox-scene.com/ now and then, he says it has information on everything you will want to know about modifying your xbox.

I have kind of same issue..My purpose of XBOX was purely FTP media from my External HDD.

My Router RTA230 is connected to my USB. (Router 192.168.1.1), So NIC is not used for internet.
Xbox is using Ninja3

My NIC is connected to XBOX (NIC 192.168.0.2, Xbox 192.168.0.3). DNS settings have null in both XBOX and PC.
I use a crossover cable for FTP with FlashFXP. I connected and transferred successfully after 2 days of mucking about.
NOW I CANT CONNECT AGAIN!!
Havent changed any settings at all..WHY CANT I CONNECT!

First option
Should I buy a switch for ROuter-Switch-PC and Router-Switch-Xbox connection and assign them 192.168.1.2 (NIC) and 192.168.1.3 (XBOX)
Should they be all in the same domain or XBOX-Switch in different domain 192.168.0.3 OR shoudl DHCP take care of it (What DNS settings would then be?)

Would this be easier for FlashFXP and Xbox to handle

I am not using internet with XBOX, but would like to.

Another option is
Can i use ROuter-PC through USB and then Router-Xbox thro router's ethernet. What settings would I be using?

HELP please O wise ones!!!

Can you ping your xbox?

In your flashFXP settings are you using a name or the IP address? Have you tried deleting the connection that doesnt work and creating a new one.

Nah cant ping it since last time. My NIC shows activity and shows packets flowing!!

I tried creating a new connection(by quick connect) and using last one which was saved, didnt work.
Is there any hierachy I have to boot my xbox/PC in... PC is always on with crossover plugged in, I just take my xbox and plug cable in and then boot Xbox.

Hi, people!!! I'm also tryin' to connect my XBOX to my PC (mainly to be able to copy original games). I have read a lot of stuff in the net about how to do it...but I'm gettin' mad and frustrated, and not sleeping at all. So, if anyone of you may help me a little bit...thanks a lot.

I got my laptop PC connected to Internet with a USB DSL Speedtouch modem and the connection is working perfectly. I got FlashFXP installed in my PC and Avalaunch installed in my XBOX. I got a RJ-25 cable that fits perfectly from the XBOX to the Ethernet in my PC. And I got an Ethernet Card installed in my PC (D-Link DFE-650TXD Fast Ethernet) and it's not broken. The problem is that the connection is impossible. It's not working. I have tried to config FlashFXP and Avalaunch IP's in a thousand different ways but it seems like if there's no communication at all between the Ethernet and the XBOX.

I don't know a lot about this kind of things but I'm beginning to believe that maybe I should "launch" in some way the Ethernet to make it work. The Ethernet hardware is recognized by my PC and in the right bottom of the screen I can clearly see the icon that represents the Ethernet when it's connected. So, maybe the whole problem is about to config the Ethernet Card to be connected with the XBOX??? And how I can do this??? If I go to Control Panel and Network, I can find the Ethernet properties but I don't know what to do there. Am I supposed to adjust both Avalaunch and Ethernet to be connected with the same parameters?? I guess yes. So what about Ethernet gateway, and IP, and sub (maschera)????

And finally one doubt that for sure it's a stupid one and that it's coming from a rookie like me: if I'm trying to connect the PC to the XBOX using the Ethernet, why the IP??? I mean, the Ethernet is not connected to the Net (as I said I'm connecting to the Net with DSL USB modem) and neither the XBOX is connected to the Net. So, why to use an IP??? Why is not possible to connect directly with a cable like when you connect to PC's with an USB cable???

Thanx a lot!!!!
