Folks, truth is - you could just buy the phone, pay full price and use your own voice and data plan options.

Except they say that the new casual plans will not apply, and you cant use it on prepay, so you cant use your own voice and data plan options, unless they are current you choose with a data addon, I called and asked, no data only, no old motormouth plan with data addon.

Noticed that to and checked their site... Nothing about a $50 plan and phone for $850 (Thnk thats what he said)

I was looking forward to getting an iPhone but not as these prices.

Yeah, where's he getting that figure from?! He just made a tool of himself on national TV.

What a jerk he is. Sitting there all smug and smart, saying he had no idea what other operators worldwide are charging, and trying to convince us their plans are great value for money. If the attitude and arrogance he displayed is typical of how their management team is then they're not really going to care what any of us say about the pricing.

I just wished John had have asked him what he thought of all the people complaining and if that mattered to Vodafone.

He is right you have to buy the buy right out an d have choose 20 with 200mb data plan. total is $50. no texting and only 20 free minutes.

I say go John Campbell..... I take my hat off to him. Vodafone are theives. bet they have mass teething problems with iphone contracts that aren't part of the iPhone 250, 500, 1000 plans.

Started reading this thread a little late, it's already up to 24 odd pages :-)

I'm not suprised at the price gorging Vodafone is doing, to anyone following the industry this is standard operating practice for Vodafone, and it will continue for as long as Vodafone can get away from it.

I'm most suprised that people didn't expect Vodafone to rip you off so blantantly and to your face, while smiling and lieing about it on Campbell Live. ($50/Month plan, Yeah Right.)

I'm happy that so many people are pissed off at Vodafone, thanks for finally catching up and realising they are Wan^C]^C]i competing fairly on a level playing ground :)

Business spokesmen always use tricks to make prices seem cheaper. $850 is GST Excl of $949.... However most consumers are not in business so are the final payers of the GST.........

i got a tear in my eye when i saw the prices today. Fully ruined my day... I have always backed vodafone. i came from telecom. but it turns out all telecos are just the same... But I must admit i enjoyed campbell ripping apart that vodafone jerk.

Mabey he should try being a student again with a student loan and saying 80 dollars a month with a 600 dollar is a valueble option.

AND NO VISUAL VOICEMAIL (good thing there isnt it would most likely cost a extra 50 dollars a month...)

I already got my overdraft to buy it. thats how ready i was. but tomorrow i'm going back to the back to give it to them

I think that we need a new wireless communication provider to sort out this.... any billionaires out there...... or maybe how about the government sells the rail again and sets up a communication provider
