Your last paragraph. What if they released an app that streams all Sky content?
Yes. At a price point of up to $50 and able to be used on at least two devices, and with the line-up I mentioned in HD, I would be in. Otherwise, no.
Ok, current Basic is 50. Movies say 20. Rialto and Soho free. HD free maybe with a bundle or free for streaming. Maybe 60 is a stretch but its not far away. You wont need the MySky too
Getting in the zone, if it was $10-15 cheaper and the programmes (everything on basic except the freeview channels) were completely ad free then I probably would be in. And it should be at least that much cheaper, if I'm streaming using an app and my own hardware then it's cheaper for Sky - no decoder box, installer, or dish required to be supplied. But there is no way I'm paying $50 for a service where I get bombarded by ads during the show and have promos over the credits etc - not when cheaper services don't have this.

Frustration at Sky adverts is a well-aired common theme in GZ Sky threads. And much more painful now that Netflix et al have given us a taste of what an ad-free experience looks like. Who wants a single program interrupted multiple times to endure Sky advertising itself?
It's not just the streaming services that don't have ads. Pirated product doesn't tend to either. If, as he is stated, Fellett is seriously worried about piracy and having to compete with it, you would think that the least he would do was ensure that the paid product wasn't actually worse than the bootleg alternative. And, with the current saturation-bombing level of ads, it most definitely is worse!
