Oh dear, I thought the customer trials had already started some time ago?
I guess this means we'll be getting yet another extension to the shutdown of Vodafone TV, it doesn't sound hopeful for meeting the latest February target.

New Sky Box Smaller, more refined box
It's the best of satellite and streaming all in one.
Your favorites all in one place
Sky TV, streaming and On Demand
Record 5 shows at once.
$15 per month with My Sky
Watch on any screen.
With Sky Go
All new voice remote
Talk to Google to do more on your TV.
Our new Sky Box will transform your Sky experience and you can be one of the first in line by registering your interest here. After 30 years of loyal service, I will need to pay $15 per month to use the new features. otherwise stay where I am with the old 500TB clunker, that's been replaced several times over the years.

Yep. Ive had 00.1% of issues. Rain fade, but not for ages. Failed STB, no. Yes, it would be cool to get the "2023" device, but the "1980's" device still continues to perform. I dont care if Sky comes from the old box, the new box, or via my wifi big toe, if my content is there, and the price is fine, I'm fine.
Edit: I did have my big toe upgraded to 5 GHz, so I may be biased... :-)

Press release:
Sky is pleased to confirm that customer trials have commenced on the new Sky Box and Sky Pod.
A range of customers from the Sky Nation panel have volunteered to be triallists and to be the first to experience the exciting new Sky technology over January.
The new Sky Box is the most transformative product we’ve delivered for our customers in some years. As a ‘hybrid’ box, it offers the best of Sky satellite, streaming, and on demand. Customers can access Sky, free-to-air channels and their favourite Apps – all in one place.
The Sky Pod has been specially designed for those customers who are happy to rely on internet-only delivery (and can’t or don’t wish to have a satellite dish on their home). It’s an ideal solution for customers who have accessed Sky through the soon-to-close Vodafone TV, and some of our triallists are VTV customers.
Today is an important milestone. We are delighted to be sharing these transformational new products with our customer triallists and look forward to hearing their feedback. We also look forward to offering the new Sky Box and Sky Pod more widely in the coming weeks.
Yes, got my Sky Pod via the courier this evening. Very quick delivery, saw an email asking me to trial on Wednesday afternoon, joined trial, and Sky Pod arrived this evening.
Simple and straight forward to setup.
They want $15 a month even after I am paying for MySky? LOL. That's a hard no from me.
The Sky Decoder works fine, Satellite is ultra-reliable, the picture quality is good.
Only just starting testing? I guess I can expect VTV to be extended further and not be getting the pod this month then. Interested to hear and comments from anyone trialing them.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

MikeB4: New devices don't fix the core problems. That is terrible programmg, selection, choice of packageand pricing.
New devices stuck in the wrong decade.
Can you give it a rest now? We get it, you don't like Sky. Plenty of people do, you aren't adding anything to the conversation.
After thinking about it. The SKY POD would just remain in one TV in the lounge. Instead of paying $100 for a device I won't own. I think it would be better to just get the standard box and still get the 1 month free and save $100. Or better yet use that $100 to buy a device that can add Netflix etc to the TV and have the standard sky box.

As I mentioned above, I have a Sky Pod to trial. Was using VTV prior, what would you like to know?
Essentially does it provide the same functions and is it easy to use? Are you able to watch anything going back 3 days on the guide as promised? Does that also work with the freeview channels (ie, 1, 2, 3 etc).
Any other comments or frustrations with it?

No I will not. You do not get to decide others opinions and posts

Umm, I had VTV a bit back so
1) Speed when changing channels
2) Picture quality
3) How easy to move to another tv
4) Sound balance ads/shows or any sound issues (bips and squeeks)
4) Menu speed and logic (ie makes sense so things easy to find)
5) How easy to add aps
6) Remote backlit?
7) Any timeshift or rewind options
8) Chromecasting and iPad casting (if can test)
Just some quick thoughts. There will be more as I am more interested in the pod :)
Can't go back 3 days for TV 1,2 or 3. Does have the apps available to install for Netflix, TVNZ+, ThreeNOW, Disney+, Neon, Prime Video, Spotify.
Haven't used it a lot yet to comment on any frustrations.
I do like the fact it's hidden from view. Black cable is Ethernet, and white is the power cable
