And here it is... Confirmation from SKY finally. I notice no changes on Vodafone's website though ...

"Sky Television has meanwhile confirmed that customers who have unlimited broadband with Vodafone will be able to buy its new Sky Starter entry-level service for $14.91 a month, carrying over a $10 discount that previously applied to Sky Basic. "

As here : https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/industries/102007264/spark-and-sky-tv-sharpen-promotions

So, they haven't updated their pricing yet, but considering you get recording (saving $15-$20 compared with MySky) and save another $10, it may be worth doing with Vodafone. I'd consider it for Broadband, Freeview Recording (plus the rest of what is in Sky Starter) and the abaility to add Sky Sport for the Rugby season. Depends on pricing of course, but if the Start VodafoneTV package was around $110 it'd be OK value IMO.

Current package - Sky Basic and Fibre100 (or FibreX200) is $139.99 a month. The sky portion of that is $39.91 ($49.91 less $10 discount). Makes the Broadband + STB 'rent' portion $100 a month. The Starter package will be $14.91 incl $10 discount, so $115/month for Broadband and TV (including a recorder).

Next question - is the VodafoneTV GUI/Box any good?

I get MySky free through Vodafone (so saving the $15) but have never heard of the $10 discount on basic so have been paying the $49.91.

I believe its the $10 loyalty discount you get from Vodafone, not a sky discount as such..

Ahhh, yep, that makes sense.

Still, it will be interesting to see their pricing.

Ah, well I do get a $10 discount on the broadband which I understood was due being in a 12 month contract and didn't think it was anything to do with having Sky.

So with Soho being valued by sky at $9.99 has anyone removed it and got a discount?

You can't get a discount on something provided at zero cost to you. Seems logical to me.

Yeah, if I dont want Lightbox can I get a discount?  Theres 300,000 households missing out on saving $13/mth.  And how many could get a bigger discount for dropping Spotify too???

Suddenly Spark broadband just got cheaper.....

Except the price I get for Skinny is still higher than Spark after my Lightbox and Spotify and Netflix discount.  I dont want all of the bundle so why must I pay for it???!!  There is all this crap I'm paying for that I dont use or want!

The Spark plan price hasn't changed, you could not sign up for LB, NF, Spotify, so you dont have those unwanted extras to worry about. Not on your bill too.

When I buy a new car with a 5 year warranty and sell it after 2 years, why dont I get my 3 years warranty fee back as I paid for it, and dont want it. There are many many many examples of this.

Just put sport on today with vodafone sky and thought we would get soho as well - but wasn't there. Vodafone site says (I think) that you have to agree to another year with vodafone. We wont qualify as our free neon subscription hasn't finished yet and when they had some special a wee while ago they wouldn't let us have two freebies only one at a time.

Even the American cable companies realise they show too many ads on cable https://m.slashdot.org/story/338205

Hopefully this will have a knock on effect here.for the US based channels.

Has anyone on Vodafone managed to downsize to the cheaper SKY option yet? The Vodafone website still doesn't have the option listed...?
