AKLGUY79: Is it confirmed that it is SkyGo on the new pods??

So you could have the Pod at your holiday home and the sky box at home?

Sorry I read a Sky Printed release online that said using Sky Go. But the latest one (as linked in the OP) doesnt.

At the same time it does say you "get the sky go companion app" with the Sky pod so ....?

Sky stated my Sky Pod would be "courier it to you in late January". At this point I would have expected some sort of update, but so far complete silence.

Has anyone else heard anything, or even received their new box (not including those on the trial)?

I notice that Vodafone TV no longer states in the menu what the last day is for VF TV. Wonder if that’s relevant and there will be another extension.

Nothing delivered to me but as long as it continues as Vodafone TV I am happy for it to take months :-)

This! I hope Sky read this!

I like VFTV. If it stays on right up until the day I can ring and have a skypod delivered and working then I will consider it. If they shut off VFTV with no solution, or I have to wait weeks or months for a skypod to be arranged and delivered with no VFTV solution. then I will absolutely never look at the skypod solution!

Having experienced the wild weather in Auckland over the last few days and lots of "atmospheric interference", I'm looking forward to a new box that doesn't 100% rely on satellite.

I was looking forward to the new sky box but after reading your comments I am not so sure now. It appears that they have not received a supply of the new box and we have not heard anything about the so-called box testing.?

Pretty sure the new "Box" still uses Satellite (as per the OP)

Yes it does, and you reminded me of the atmospheric interference which will be a novelty after years of cable.

I thought it would also have a digital aspect to it for Sky - assuming that's not the case, I am guessing that's just for On-Demand apps

Yes for the on-demand apps and 4K within those apps. Sky NZ Content is via Sat still I believe

Can you have 2 of the pucks on different TVs and watch like multiroom or because of Sky go is it only limited to one device at a time?

Slightly off topic but Skygo is not limited to one device anymore. You can stream on two devices simultaneously whilst also watching on your Sky box as well if you like.

I've been using the Sky Pod for about a week and I have had a few thoughts about it.  I guess the main thought is because it's a Google TV device the fact that Sky have Skyfied it means that many of the Google features have been changed/crippled.  Having been a VTV user and having had a Chromecast I've never felt the need to explore any of the TV devices (Google, Mi etc etc).  But having used the Sky Pod, it's obvious that a native Google device would offer so much more by not being crippled by Sky.
