Using the new sky box, how do I stop it turning off when the TV is turned off.?  Never did this when using the Vodafone box. Can anyone help please.?

This sounds like an HDMI CEC setting.
Since the sky box is based on android TV I would imagine there will be a setting for it somewhere in the configuration menu.

Thanks. Found HDMI-CEC that was switched off. Switched it on but made no difference. Must be another setting.

I hate the thing already. To me it seems slow and laggy and throws an activation error every time I change channel and says I have to call customer service - I'd rather bin the box than call.

Sounds like the services haven't been loaded onto your account.

Sounds like Sky should have done this before they sent it out.

Activation errors cleared, but if for example if I'm on one channel and enter channel number of another channel I subscribe to it refuses to switch and says I need a package upgrade, yet cycling through the channels will allow me to watch said channel. Very annoying and I'm not calling again, will just leave box turned on and see if it fixes itself.

Hi as above @clayton, not sure what your on about, Kaon have been a significant supplier in the payTV market for many years and demonstrably successfull, not sure where your ignorant comments come from.

@Spyware

It wont change until sky load the services onto your account. If you don't want to ring them, they have a chat service via their web site once you've logged on to your account.

Activation errors appear to have stopped and I can now even record things - I didn't phone/chat again. Thing is though that Sky account app showed my relevant subscriptions from day one and I paid the $200 immediately after it was powered on for the first time. I also see now that I owe -$90 which is good, assume vtv refund.

All I can assume is someone with half a brain up there has finally loaded the services onto your account... good you got it sorted.

FYI, email from Sky today.

We’re reaching out to let you know about an upcoming change to your Sky Entertainment package. From 31 March 2023 at 11.59pm, the National Geographic channel will no longer be available on Sky, including Channel 72, On Demand and Sky Go.

I enjoyed this channel!!

I guess the contract with Sky came to an end.

National Geographic is now owned by Disney, so it's not surprising that they will withdraw it from other pay TV suppliers and make it available only on Disney+.
