I have free Lightbox available but never used it :(

Mind you, I have free Netflix available and I would probably never use that either.

Well I’ll be moving on from Spark, I valued Lightbox and Spotify, I don’t mind paying for Spotify as a stand-alone but other then that nothing on offer can keep me here, jeez my account is in credit a few hundred dollars too, I’ll have that back.

Its factored into your price. The value that you give it. When Lightbox was added, nettles was added, Spotify was added the plan pricing didnt change. They are freebies.

One has since been sold, so it drops off the list. The value to you has changed. It has for me too, as I have used it. But as I see it, Ive enjoyed a free service for quite some time, with no added price on my plan. Its over, so thanks, enjoyed it. If Spark kept it, at an extra fee, hopefully a discount from RRP, I'd be ok with that too.

Nonsense argument. Lightbox is included, not a bonus, nor free.

If you say so. Nonsense argument is in your opinion.

Is it unfair that sometimes, free things come to an end?

Not free, it is factored into the price.

I don't rember any price increase when Lightbox was added to my Spark account same with Netflix.

@old3eyes are you saying that when you signed up for your current plan that it only came with Netflix and Spotify? Then they added LightBox? As from memory it has always been a part of the package even before the latest Unplan plan.

I've had Lightbox since day one as a tester. My wife's phone came with Spotify which we've never used and I signed up for 12 months again with Netflix. No where amongst all this did the prices go up.

I wonder how many subscribers it will have once it comes to an end, as many people have it bundled with their spark internet package. It will be a good reason to them shop around looking at what other  ISPs now have to offer.

I wonder if this is Skys plan for buying lightbox, as apparently they are now going to be an ISP, so maybe they will bundle lightbox with their broadband packages, like Spark have done? Thus creating a value added service and point of difference. Are all those Spark subscribers getting lightbox for free, automatically now Sky customers with lightbox? If so, it could be very easy for Sky to now contact all customers offering their ISP and lightbox service to them, and maybe even bundle in other sky services. Could be a smart move for them. Vodafone also are now offering entertainment services via a media box which they can make money on even if their are not your ISP, also  a potentially smart move. Spark could get left behind if they aren't providing value added services that create a point of difference. They do offer a netflix addon, but that is a third party service they don't own. Maybe they think that is enough, rather than also having lightbox?

I think the question was not about if the prices went up with Lightbox but more on the fact that you can get naked broadband cheaper vs the entertainment package which came with Netflix AND Lightbox. And now that Lightbox will be removed, then the value of what you used to get for what you pay for have been reduced.

By removing Lightbox they may be able to make the plans cheaper. Let’s wait and see what they do. If they decide to keep the price the same then most likely many of their current customers will leave.

If they do end up decreasing the price, how much cheaper do you want it to be before you consider staying with Spark?

It’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out for Unplan Entertainment plans - I don’t know if it was very prominent on any of the sign up pages when I moved my parents over to Unplan Entertainment on a 12 month term.

If they offer a Spotify credit instead of premium so I can use it with Spotify family? Or include a discount subscription to another streaming service to take the place of Lightbox.

I saw value in the Unplan Entertainment package, maybe not so much now.

Not sure to be honest as it will be difficult to compare with other offers. For instance, Fibre 100 unlimited is $98 with the Entertainment plan. For simplicity let's say that will now only come with Fibre and Netflix. You can buy the same combo individually cheaper elsewhere even though not by much and yeah some of the ISP's are online support only to bring down the cost.

It will be interesting what they come up with. Either lower cost? Or other deals e.g. discounted Spotify on BB not just mobile plans. Or maybe premium Netflix instead of standard?

One thing for sure is this will trigger customers to look for better deals.

I'd support having Spotify Credit or the option to addon Spotify at a discounted rate.

Now just need them to match the offer Vodafone has with discounted additional endless data plans
