Most devices will go behind the TV, I wonder if a USB port on the back of the TV will power the device?

Hah. Wish I'd thought of that. Just gave it a whirl and it works.

Set up was ok, I think sky will get more warm fuzzies if they actually made some useful online guides, the ones online at the moment don't hep with figuring out how android tv works.

From a vodafone tv user, I turn it on and change channels. Not so straightforward on the puck. A simple guide for a vodafone tv user transitioning would be beneficial, not everyone can figure it out.

Tv3 features in the sky channels. Tvnz does not, so have to use the app.

Picture is good. Remote is SUPER LAGGY. Let's hope they are focussing on that.

Currently I have a HDi box purchased 15 years ago with a x-ray box attached for remote control next to it, I have 3 remotes 2 of them used in the bedroom and office and the other in lounge to change the channels etc.

I live on my own so I can change the channels without upsetting anyone.

I don't think the new box could do this

the TV USB port would need to output 5V@1A. The default USB2 spec is 500ma max, so you’d need to do some checking and verifying.

My pods arrived. (2 of them) I wonder if activating the first one will cause both of the VTV boxes to be deactivated? I don't see any option to specify which box is being replaced. I'd rather do them separately, that way I can practice with the first one and not leave SWMBO with no TV if it goes pearshaped.

If both are associated with the same EMail address then both the relevant VTV boxes will I believe be disabled.

Any existing Sky customers been able to order the new Sky box yet?

If I log in - I can now see this which looks wrong as that says $100 p/month! Looks to be the discounted one-off cost of the box.
If I hit Add Offer - takes me to the upgrade screen and then cannot proceed any further.

After hanging in for years, hoping for a slick new box, 4K, better content etc, I've decided to cancel my Sky subscription. The reviews I've read of the new Box and the Puck, bugs and lagginess were the nail in the coffin. We've had Sky since 1996 - so about 27 years. The retentions team did offer to discount the monthly subscription with all the same content by a third out of loyalty. I ditched it anyway.

They should see sense and just release an Apple TV and Android TV app that features live TV and OD content. That's all I and many people I speak to ever want. If they did that, I may consider coming back.

Understandable.

I've decided to give it a try for one month (if my Sky Pod ever arrives), and then make a decision whether to stay or go. If it doesn't work out, I'll upgrade my old Apple TV to the latest model and go back to subscribing to a few streaming apps.

I'd also really like to see an Apple TV app - I'd be first in the queue to sign up!

I agree, ATV is the best thing since slice bread and works well with Plex.

The YouTube app has a lot of content and if you want to go ad free it will cost you $17.99 per month including YouTube music

Sky is really designed now a days for sport fans!!

No Freeview app on the ATV but I have a UHF Ariel installed for $150, much better quality than streaming.
