Is it definite that the new Sky box only has HDMI and composite out? Has anyone here actually received one yet?

Most likely one of these things, or slight variant thereof. H.264 but no H.265/4K capability meaning they'll need to roll out something else for 4K. Sky always technically backward but its a start.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

It does make me wonder why Sky are being so "Secret Squirrel" about the whole thing. They clearly have already decided on a box, know what its model and specs are, and know their launch window.

So why put out fluffy ads with almost no hard information in them, and not have the details on their website? It makes it a bit difficult for people planning upgrades to their home entertainment and home video distribution arrangements (*cough* me *cough*) to know what they might have to plan for, and to buy the right kit, if they want to consider keeping Sky.

I'm not sure what they gain by being so secretive, but they are certainly managing (yet again) to irritate me.

What about just delaying the upgrade? A few days is not literally going to kill you is it?

So I have MySky+ and have recently been signed up to the Sky On Demand "pioneer group".

Looks like I'll get new software pushed to my box and then I'll be able to connect to my wireless network at home and start viewing On Demad content.

Doesn't sound like a new box is needed for those of us on Mysky+...

Roll out probably designed to go live a month or two after the RWC end to try to reduce cancellations when RWC ends.

If you are in the "pioneer group" no you will not get a new box, not mysky+ or mysky HDi either.

No. And I'm not remotely saying that it will. It's just irritating. Which is what I'm remarking on.

Why go to the trouble of putting out teaser ads if there is literally no hard information available for those they manage to interest?

But then I guess that Sky never seems to have much concern about gratuitously irritating its customers. Or else they wouldn't be bombarding us with the same five promos every 7-8 minutes on most of their channels, or repeatedly calling me to promote a MySjy upgrade offer I have told them I don't want and asked them to stop calling me about.

The decision I am weighing up about whether to cancel is getting easier by the day.

Point taken sir.

I personally hate the adverts, Annoying music actually. And the repeats of them. ANY way

Boxes are on the way soon. When ever that is
