Goosey:
It says "for sky direct customers".
I got the email, but charge through VF.
hmmmmmmm
I'm in the same situation, but I wonder if that clause is more for VF TV customers who get their channels delivered over Fibre, whereas Sky control the entitlements on the smart card?

It said and I quote "and a SKY box" so that ties in with the ability to provision via the card, and cannot via Sky using another solution

True. My mother has vf tv (old box), somwoll check if she starts to get free stuff next week. I note she didn’t get the email.
Whereas for myself, I have a sky box but charge through VF.
Hmm. Pondering.
Wonder if the VF guy here can shed light?
@someone !
Oops
I missed out the terms say "and Sky box" whuich ties oin with needing a Sky box to provision the changes, as compared to VF over IP which cannot be done that way. I'd ask Sky if you can call in to get a manual free set of the channels for the 14 days
VF can play nice and provide the unblocked SKY channels over Vodafone TV all they need to do is turn off the encryption
Beavis: In reality, my wife summed it up. If they are genuine and want to give their valued clients a Christmas treat, that fine. But in reality they hope you like the channels they show you, and you will sign up for them.
No problem here, sensible marketing. But make sure you send the email to people that are entitled to it, other wise you are p...sing people off. My wife said she didn’t care anyway. Not really interested in sports, and already seen all the movies they have...
But we will see come Monday morning.
I doubt its about getting new subs for some channels. We already know the other channels and we dont subscribe, seeing any free for two weeks wont change that. I feel its about added value on a regular basis to combat Spark Sports. If we know we will get freebies every now and then, we might hang on

Silver Box (ADB) or Black Box (T-Box)?
Check out my LPFM Radio Station at www.thecheese.co.nz - Now on iHeart Radio, TuneIn and Radio Garden
As per the usual std disclaimer.. "All thoughts typed here are my own."
ZollyMonsta:

Sky says "Sky Box", so I take that as MySky. If the freebie applied to any box used by Sky or VF, it would not mention Sky box or any box IMHO
Ease up on the quotes, people.
Beavis: Monday morning has arrived and all my channels are unlocked. So the fine print wasn’t quite right. Got 2 weeks to see what I’ve been missing!
Yes, they seem to be doing the unlocking by sending out new authorisations to all the cards. It takes many hours to do that, so they had to start early to finish by 18:00, so a lot of people have got a few hours extra. Mine started working at about 06:05 on the 24th.
Morozov: Telemarketing number is getting the chop end of year so if you want to get in your days are running out.
Gee. I would have thought they'd sort out their SVoD/IPTV solution before cutting this offer off. From next month, the cheapest Sport in HD option will be $64.71 per month ($24.91 Starter + $29.90 + $9.90 HD ticket)
