tukapa1: Can also confirm still on - got MkSky with sport and SOHO and the HD ticket for $58 month.

Will be installed at the end of the week.

I passed this to a work colleague, and he's on this deal as well. Apparently it will expire in the next few days.

He also advised that at the end of the 12 month contract, put the account on hold for two billing cycles, and they will do another, similar deal.

The link is to the wrong deal... sky will never offer the telemarketing deal on their website... it is only offered if you get a call from the telemarketing division, or you can ring the number listed.   If you ring sky directly on the main number you wont be offered the same deal either... the best you will be offered is the same as on the web and this does not include the free mtsky+ box... so you would be paying $20 extra per month.

I know people who plan to dump sky after the rugby world cup.

Wondering if this is something significant, or , just anecdotal.

Huh? What does that have to do with a sky deal that has been offered to new customers for over a year?

FYI

The number is 0800 4 SKY TV (0800 475 988)

This is their telemarketers, not their regular consumer line, so they provide much better deals than sky can.

Yes, I have heard that too, and I am in that group. I expect the churn to LB and/or NF is very minimal. It will dribble until after the RWC, then the crack in the dam will grow. I expect then we will see some deals, including Come Back deals. Maybe Sky is on a cost savings/efficiency regime in order to absorb some of the price drops.

If you use 4252 as a code you can ring or got to sky.co.nz/direct and get 2 premium packages free as well as the basic package for 12 months for under $50 for the 12 months. expires 27th June.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Not exactly, that does not include mySky or Mysky +.  If you ring the telemarketers number they throw in mysky+ for free.... that's an extra $20 buck dollars in the deal you pointed out.

Also this is for 12 months of service but the contract is only for 6.  So you can cancel after 6 with no charge.
