Which leads me to another point, i think it's pretty average Spark don't offer anything to subscribers except the RWC (which Kayo has), i spent around $250 a month with Spark but get nothing (other than Spotify from my mobile). Seems an area they could do better in...

I spend $100 a month with Spark and on top of my broadband, I also get Netflix and Lightbox. Perhaps you need to speak to Spark about your options?

Ah good point, forgot about them, i pay for Netflix as i want the 4K option, and who watches Lightbox?

Would be nice if they discounted Spark Sport in some way for those buying their other products, or gave you the option of either free Netflix or free SS etc...

Good idea!

Lets ask them to give is free Lightbox, free Netflix, free Spotify, and free broadband. That will simplify their billing system....

Given that the 14 August is rapidly approaching, has anyone received any more details about the new Sky Sport Now app?

I'd love to know how the replays will be handled, likewise if the Apple TV app will be updated ready for the 14th.

Found out the resolution and frame rate on twitter πŸ˜€

HD 1080p 50fps except ESPN and ESPN2 which are 720p.

Got a link to the tweet? I can't find anything official

Did we get a verdict on whether Sky Sport Now will have chromecasting capabilities? Sadly my mortgage and Sky Digital + Sport aren't going to work but this would be a great alternative.

I believe so, it is essentially going to be a beefed up fanpass which has chromecast?

Also isn’t sky starter + sport about the same price as sky sport now will be??

It must do, as its an upgrade to Fanpass which does. "Available on Chromecast."

SSN states  The ability to link to a big screen

It must do, Martin Stewart is removing the chains from Fanpass, and FP was always designed for the big screen

That about $55 I think, but its a basic Sky box, not recording (and no Sky OD I think) Its a good option if you can watch live, or if there is a replay that you can watch that live

Sky OnDemand is available to any subscriber on Starter. Just because the box doesn't have the ability to record activated, it doesn't mean that you can't use OnDemand. But Sport OnDemand is mostly highlights with the odd full replay available. Unless Sky makes full replays available OnDemand then it's a crippled version.

Ok, does Sky OD (and I assume you access that vi SkyGo) have all SkyOD channels?

Great, my deal from the other thread has rolled over and I'm now paying $77 for the big box and starter + sport. That's too much for how little I get to watch live sport and given I'm now covering Spark Sport too.

The $40 12 month deal sounds like the way to go.

I'd be spending a lot of money just to be able to series-link The Simpsons and a bunch of animated shows from Comedy Central I could probably get on another streaming sub. But I'll see what happens.

As a long-time Fanpass user, if this was the only new feature, I'd still be rapt - 1080p is long over due.
