Heaps, as long as you aren't stuck in the 80s and only watch rugby.

Are Sky gonna be cheapskates again and not pay to get the IPL this season on the normal Sports channels. Since mostly there are no NZ players in it this year?

Correct there is no IPL on. Really looking forward to a streamlined BBL starting this Sunday 15th. Few kiwis playing too, Seifert, Ferguson, Munro & finn allen

As a side note getting little off topic

https://styxsports.com/cricket/series/live-stream

Is a legit legal Site with rights for a lot of free Cricket content. Some are Geoblocked , I see they are showing the BBL. They might be an option for those that don't have a Sky Subscription?

Any deals for existing satellite customers? Just coming off a special now.

I recall there was some guy's number we could call to get a deal? Is he still around?

Or do you still need to call up and threaten to cancel?

Last 2 years I have called up and requested a deal.

This is what I was offered October 2024

"Currently on Sky Sport, Starter and Mysky (20% discount) for $62.39 a month

  1. Same as above 15% discount 12 month contract = $69.71 a month
  2. Same channels as above, instead of 15% discount get Mysky for free, no contract, $67.99 month
  3. Starter, Entertainment and sport with Mysky, 6 month contract at 50% off $55.50 per month"

My workmate just came off contract, bill went up to the high $60 range, threatened to cancel and they knocked around $20 off for 6 months

I choose the first one, as previously when sport or starter has gone up during a 12 month contract it doesn't increase till the end. $1.70 a week increase I can live with. The 50% off for 6 months was tempting though! She also asked me about upgrading to the new box and laughed hard when I heard it still had some teething issues.

Called it back in October, got an email yesterday to say the cost of Sport per month is going up from $42 to $47. Seeing as I'm on a plan, no change for me.

Hmm I had the opposite of that when my 12 month discount ended. Called and asked if there was anything they could do and they made it cheaper than on the previous discount.

Ask to be put through to the retentions team. Same as above, I always get sharp deals

SSN has become so expensive despite being a very average product. I'm amazed they are holding onto half of their customers.
