Oh ok they must have changed it then as it wasn't available originally... I haven't installed since I sideloaded it...

EDIT: Just checked and the two lightbox apps won't install on my nvidia shields; do you have a link to the google play store one?

Kickass:

Any news on if the new Neon will support 4K or 5.1 sound?

Also does anyone knows what bitrate Lightbox tops out at the moment? I believe Nalso seem to indicate that eon is 1080p 8000kbps?

I'd be all over it if they offered 4K

got an email from Lightbox a couple of days ago apologising for the first two email responses I had received and confirming that the current Lightbox app for Android TV will continue to be maintained once the merge has completed.
This would also seem to indicate that the new Neon will use the lightbox platform (as Neon don't currently have an android TV app).

Yep. They have said that Lightbox is to be rebranded into Neon colours. This also allows them to finally have an Apple TV app. I remember reading that some of the functionality of the app will also be enhanced but I forget the details.

Spark kindly changed me to the $59.99 10GB Rollover Plan, for people who are more interested in data than extras.  This plan is not on their website but you can ask for it.

My understanding is it is identical to the $59.99 4GB Rollover Plan so, hotspot included at no extra charge, sharing with up to 4 mobiles allowed, 10GB data monthly instead of 4GB, with rollover data, just doesn't include Spotify (we pay for family so don't need it) or Lightbox (which is no longer).

Disappointed that I won't get to see the final season of Better Call Saul, when it airs.

That alone isn't enough for me to shell out for the Neon subscription.

Spark's 10GB unlimited plan is the same price, sure you don't have hot-spotting, but having endless data is a much-better value add.

Wait til all 10 episodes have aired and then binge on a free trial. ;-)

Well so far I am enjoying Neon during this 3 week free period. I have 10 shows and 40 movies in "My List". It plays well through my HT. The biggest fault for me is that the "My List" is buried within a Hamburger menu even on the website. I tend to browse and preview all my SV (and in theatre) entertainment via the desktop browser and mark as required which then permeates to my iPad/iPhone app. I have past my feedback on.

Will I continue past the 3 weeks trial, mmm do not know at this stage. I am also looking at maybe Disney+ and I also have a 12 mth free sub with TV+. There is only so much viewing time in a day.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

This was so frustrating, I completely missed the email where they mentioned these changes, and only came to realize after a couple reminders from my wife that Lightbox was not working and then I searched my email and found it.

The email from spark mentioned 15th July as the date where we can cancel otherwise an ETF applies. I thought I should be able to cancel at anytime with no ETF after they made this change. I chatted with Spark to see if there was a discount now since its gone (no discount), and they also said I will be charged an ETF if I cancel now. Is this ok? It just doesnt make sense to me, Im sure when I signed up it was an 'Entertainment' plan and clearly was advertising Lightbox as an included extra. So to justify sparks higher price I factored in lightbox at around $10 a month.

Im not even sure I would of ended up changing my provider/plan, I have been with spark for ages, but when the spark agent told me I would be charged an ETF If I change I was quite annoyed at how this was being handled. I thought this was one of those things where they would just get back to me after talking to a manager and say, all good sir, if you want to terminate we will waive your ETF.. and that in itself would have made me happy and I probably would stay on. But being denied the waiving of the ETF even after I explained situation, it just felt like im being screwed over.

Since most of the comms in this thread are Pre 15th July, i wasnt sure if anyone else had experience this, does this seem fair of spark to Deny waiving ETF now even though they changed the plan I signed up for?

How much is the ETF? Personally I would suck it up and take it as a lesson to read my emails especially as you don't intend to cancel.

of course I should of read the email, that is my bad. I just didnt like how even though the plan is changed, there is a set time I can cancel until the ETF applies. The plan changed. $199 ETF.

You may have a case under the CGA (they can't contract out of it) but you don't want to cancel so what is the point?

They effectively changed the terms of your existing contract without your agreement.

Atleast knowing there wont be a ETF gives me the opportunity to look around if I wanted to, but Im not sure I would have ended up changing in end is what I meant. Its more to do with the fact that I feel its wrong that they force an ETF on me in this situation. That is whats driving me to actually want to change now. I'm on Max Fibre, 120gb Plus, inc ph line. $130 Month (inc netflix standard). There are of course cheaper options options available. I only decided to pay the premium as there was a couple shows on lightbox my son watches, so thought just pay the premium to include lightbox. But having it removed, and then no discount, and then also an ETF (yes yes I know the email said July 15.. ) didnt make sense to me and felt this was just not right.
