F1 free practice 2 didn’t record last night (FP1did) and tonight FP3 isn’t recording. Under planning it says it is to start at 10.15 pm but it didn’t fire up. Sigh, again. 🤨

TV One news is on Series Link. Been recording fine all week. Tonight - no recording! Cannot explain why it wouldnt record.

Had to watch it on TVNZ on Demand.

Exactly the same thing on our MySky box! I've been seeing this a bit recently, eg Tipping Point not record for 3 days, then picks up again. This problem might not be New Box related?

Like some others, Sky want us to buy the new box on the $50 offer. I'm not interested if it doesn't do all that MySky does, and certainly don't have any appetite for beta testing it.

I did a factory reset (thanks) and still nothing.

Rang Sky...you are 20th in line...blah blah and eventually got through to a helpful lady who, after 35 minutes, said depower, wait 20 minutes and restart. She also asked where were all the train of emails I'd mentioned and who did I send them to. Said Sky help and she said to email Sky support instead. Left hand not knowing what right hand doing. Followed instructions and still nothing.

Being a quiet day for me, rang Sky again and only took 30 minutes. I had to explain, again, the saga of returned MySky box only for it to be returned, from sky, damaged #1 satellite input so unusable. She asked me why they returned it!! Anyway, she got the full understanding of my situation and said she would ensure a replacement MySky box would be returned. And, she gave me back full access to use the new box until the new box returned. She even laughed, in a non sarcastic way, about the whole schmozzle. Just off to see if Chiefs and FA Cup has recorded.  And they have.

Wonder when (if) my SkyBox is returned?

I am lol. TBH its reliable as, I use MySky, but yeah, whoever designed these new boxes did great, but whoever tested them are monkeys, as well as those that rolled them out AFTER beta testing which I think a number of existing Sky users were involved in that testing.

Evey night sitting on the couch using the Sky TV box I silently prey that the VodafoneTV service would be turned back on

I am paying $15 more a month now for less viewing and poor functionally

I recently had a survey email from Sky and I gave them 2 out 10 for NPS

The SkyTV box should be pulled off the shelves!! Warning to others do not get this pile of junk!!

I'm sorry to say that's not going to happen, though many (Including myself) wish it were the case.
The $15 more a month would equate to the 'fee' being charged for the privledge to record.  A factor in itself (one of many) which means I will never subscribe to Sky personally.

Cheers,
Grant

Met up with a mate, yesterday and he asked about new Sky box and should he 'upgrade'. Said he'd been told to wait by someone else.

Definitely stay with MySky box. I wish I had.

I will take your advice and not upgrade yet, but this probably means that I'll have to pay $200 to get the new Sky Box, instead of the current $50 special upgrade price which expires on 18 June.

If all the major issues aren't fixed by $18 June, perhaps Sky should extend the special offer time until these issues have been sorted? But, Sky must have sold hundreds of these new boxes, are they all faulty or is it just a small percentage of them?

Have just setup the new skybox for my parents (I cut the cord from sky 10 years ago and never looked back), but I can't get HDMI-CEC working for the SkyBox to receive CEC commands from the TV?  The TV is an LG C2 OLED that is only 2 months old and I have CEC already enabled for use with an AppleTV connected to it and it works fine.

It seems that the TV will receive commands from the SkyBox (e.g. Powering off from the Sky Remote).  However when using the LG remote the Sky Box doesn't respond to play, pause, channel, guide, number pad, cursor, nothing?

Can anyone here confirm for me that they are able to send commands from their TV (preferably any LG TV owners) and successfully get the SkyBox to respond to anything like the guide, menu, cursor, play/pause

We have an 2012/2013 Samsung and only 2 of the 3 HDMI provide full support for both the remotes and HT sound. This held true while we had the SkyPod and applies with the new AndroidTV box too.

I would try the various HDMI ports.

@pristle - so just to be clear, when you use your Samsung remote, the new Skybox is responding to Samsung remote key-presses? Which ones are working? Numeric pad? Cursor? Guide?
