Yep, just got the same message when I logged in. Finally a positive move from SSN

Will be keen to learn just how quickly “shortly after” means in this context. I guess the TV Guide rewind for the last 6hrs is still available for something that you’ve just missed.

That it wasn’t always there shows what a rubbish product SSN has been.

SSN pissed me off big time when they removed the 24 hour playback. I've missed so many things over the last year or two that i would have otherwise watched.

I'm stoked they've put this in place. I already used it on Sunday morning to watch the NRL Super Saturday wrap up which had Shaun Johnson talking about the Warriors for 10 minutes or so.

I know that Sky are frustrating and fall short of the mark most of the time, but I'm going to give them a pat on the back for this one. It is a step in the right direction.

It feels like watching premiere rugby you can generally watch a game soon after its aired to completion. I watched the Barbarians match in the morning - It aired live at 2AM with build up. Started watching at about 7:30am and it played flawlessly. At half time we went down to make breakfast and watch the 2nd half - NOPE. Because by then the 6 hours had passed from the build up it was unavailable. Wasn't showing in the Rugby catergory other than a highlights package so I never got to watch the 2nd half. It might have shown up some time later but this is the future for test matches on the other side of the world if Sky doesn't think its worthy of a replay?

My mother is watching Wimbleton - Again its live in the middle of the night and she loses the chance to watch things frequently. Highlight packages are available but no full matches in the Tennis Catergory. Weirdly she can watch French Open, Australian Open and even ASB Auckland Tennis matches replayed but no Wimbledon?? Its just completely crap.

Sky appear to be one of our least customer focussed companies because they have the monopoly so know they'll get customers regardless of how poorly they treat them.

The drop to 6 hours of playback from the guide essentially lowered the service we were all paying for to a Quarter of what was on offer.

Add to that I bought a year subscription to get in before the price increase - Now they are doing year subscriptions on special for even less.

What do we do about it??? Not much we can.

Sky sport now has become a joke.

How is it that the frame is still so blotchy. And we don't have 4K features yet. It's 2025

I would take higher bit rate 1080p over 4K at this stage.

I use an Apple TV mainly to watch and the quality is far better there than using a browser on a NUC connected to the TV.

I'm picking its HEVC/H265 vs H264 or they use a specific encoder/codec for the Apple TV.

I sometimes use an Apple TV device to watch it and it seems pretty good there too - The TV is not as good as its the bedroom TV and the colour is a little off so its harder to judge but frame rate and smoothness is passable.

Overall I find the quality pretty equivalent to my prior Sky usage which was Digital Terrestrial - I've never owned Sky TV Satellite but a mate with a MySky I'd put it on Apple TV Close.....

I use an Apple TV as well, and the image quality is pretty good, they did an upgrade probably the best part of a year ago, and there was an instant marked improvement.

Couldn't comment on any other device, as I've never used anything else.

I do find the colours are a little off too (bit washed out), the colours always looks more vibrant on my IPTV subscription (still on the Apple TV), even when I'm watching SKY Sport NZ on the IPTV too
