Hi there,

is there someone who has any experience with SwirlyMMS application on iPhone first generation here in New Zealand?!

I'm bloody foreigner and have traveled many european countries using swirlyMMS without problems and over here seems like Vodafone doesn't want to have anythink with iPhones first generation. I've seen many people to using them but not sure if they use mms or over here so called pxt i guess.

It keeps saying: You don't have an active GPRS/EDGE/3G connection for the moment! This can be due to a temporary problem in the network or that your APN settings are incorect.

I'm pretty sure that my APN settings are correct so have no idea what else I can do.

Thanks for any sugestion

I have SwirlyMMS working well on my iPhone 2g.  These are my settings:

MMSC: http://pxt.vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend
Proxy: 172:030:038:003:8080
APN: live.vodafone.com
Username and password fields are blank.

Hope that helps

If your problem is that you don't have a valid data connection at all, try changing the APN in your settings app, go to General-Network-Cellular Data Network and make the APN www.vodafone.net.nz. That should get you a data connection.

Thanks for that but I've done everything I've just found on another lead about this problem and have my Proxy:172.30.38.3:8080 so do you think it'll make any different if I'll try yours one?
I'm more leanig toward that idea put my sim in my old nokia and try call Vodafone and ask them to aktivate pxt and vodafone live probably.
Can you tell me why over here it's PXT if the rest of the world use MMS?

PXT (MMS) is active by default on all connections prepay / on account

Have you tried your SIM in another handset for PXT and does it work?

I turned data off my phone a while ago and when i got boss prefs i turned it back on.

However, still cant access any data now.

Makes me think its a vodafone issue :(

I have heard they wont let any iphones use swirly mms?

Well why not if you don't mind. I've changed my proxy back to that nuber I had before and another kind of progres have appeared that it says now:requested mms not found by the mmsc
Do you know how long they are stored somewhere who knows where? Because I've been trying for more than week before I've decided to go here.

My data works when I change under the settings general network cellular data network APN www.wodafone.net.nz
the only thig which saks is that if you leave it like that when you are making a call you waiting quite a few seconds before it starts ringing. Its weird but if Iswap it back calling works faster.

Well that is %100 incorrect

Why not try your SIM card in another handset and see if packet data services work IE Vodafone live, PXT, phone as modem

If SIM does not work in another handset PM some details and will check the vodafone network side
