Looks good. Got a few pictures from Good Technology today:

Nokia E61 with Good

It will make Treo, Blackberry and any Windows Mobile device run to catch up.

ok! somebody please supply the specification for the E-series... i love to compare them to N-series...

:-) so far i'm leaning more onto Nokia's E for smartphone device, and keeping I-mate JasJar's as my PDA buddy! :-)

The E61 is something that would replace the Jasjar 100% and you would need only one device. The Symbian OS is quite good for PDA, and email is not bad... The only problem is software availability. Apparently is harder to develop for this platform.

oh. but... it's the nokia's conduit software that i'm not too confident with when it comes to synchronisation with outlook. I'd keep/use PocketPC for that main reason.

(oh i also realised that, E-series aren't dual-camera either are they?

All ActiveSync licences are for Exchange (OTA sync) only. It won't synchronise to a desktop or Outlook.

Looks like symbian(ie nokia) is taking aim on windows mobile. I think WM 5 have many advantages over symbian phones. Main disadvantage of phones running symbian is that software often device specific. For example app written for nokia 3650 will not work with p990. Because of this amount of software available is very limited compard to wm.

And how many manufactories are choosing symbian as their os? Last time I checked only SE and nokia do. I recall wm have something like 58 OEMs adopting wm.

In terms of technology symbian phones seem to playing catch up, phones with wifi is just coming into the market, but wm devices with wifi has been available for more than 2 years. Wm phones that are currently released have phones have wifi 802.11g push-email feature of MS Exchange and much resolution of up to 640x480(vga). It will be interesting to see what kind of spec this E series going to have...

you must have checked a looong time ago because its not just Nokia and SE that have symbian phones..
heres whats it more like:
26 Nokias
4 Sonyericssons
1 Siemens
4 Samsungs
4 Motorolas
2 Sendos
2 BenQ

also ofcourse a program for the p990 wont work on the 3650 and vice versa... one is UIQ and the other is series 60.
