been doing this last couple of days..phone is jail broken...tried to restore but only comes up with error 3194

any ideas or help with this?

bands dont show in menu...just slight off colour a top of screen

Hi - I guess you're meaning the two-tone grey effect...? This is Apple's design element coming into play - as far as I can tell I have the same look to my screen on a 3Gs. If you go to the phone function you'll also see a two-tone band at the top of the screen. Is this what you're referring to...?

well....done some research and the bads are part of the home screen "theme"..its a layer issue...i wonder if4.2 version has this remedied? thing is if i go 4.2..i lose the jail break

Hi - the 'banding' has been present for quite some time... maybe always as far as I know, so I don't think it will be changed in 4.2 (altho' as of today there is a JB for 4.2 if you wanted to upgrade - but it hasn't been tested much yet).

yes i knew the 4.2 jail break was coming but not sure if its a safe way atthis stage..cant see the benefits of it yet
