I am hard of hearing and even my sons are frustrated too.
I got in touch with Telecom NZ about this issue of TV 1, TV2 and TV3 not showing subitltes nor subtitles being recorded via TiVo on Sunday. An email was sent to Support TiVo Austrailia (from me and then Telecom sent it on) and I have not had a reply from them yet. I see that the issue has been discovered and an upgrade was scheduled for yesterday. It is still not fixed. I send an email to hybrid but it bounced all the way back here!
MY TSN number is 663-0001-802B-AEGA
It is very frustrating as I have missed out on my favourite programmes for the past 10 days now....how much longer do we have to wait before someone fixes it?
Thanks DanHybrid! Just seen captions back on tv1 stuff. Will check others later, but looks like it's good.
Do you know why TV3 still hasn't got captions? They had some a few months ago but they were dreadfully out of sync & then they disappeared altogether. I got an email from tv3 about 3 years ago saying they were working on captions for the HD broadcasts. Never get any replies now. Crazy!
Thanks for letting us know about this TVNZ issue. Glad it's resolved
Thanks for the effort Dan. As others have said captions back on TVOne and Two (had to reboot one of the Tivo's first to get it displaying). TV3 is still a no show for captions.....any thoughts there?
I dug into TV3 and CC a while ago, I can't remember the exact details off the top of my head, but from memory they use a later generation of CC spec then our generation of TiVo's can handle.
If it was visible for a short period of time, my guess is they were testing/trialing to see if they could run both, but with the sync issues, again pure speculation, it doesn't look like they were successful.
Long story short, re-activating that subsystem caused other issues. Currently working with TVNZ and TiVo Engineers who are much more knowledgeable then I to get it resolved.
