I've have had my Tivo for a week or so and am in Rotorua.

Every morning I get the "Your channel lineup has changed" message and lose TV1 and TV2 from the guide. All other channels are fine. The only way I can get TV1 and TV2 back is by going to setup and doing a rescan. I thought this TiVo was obviously faulty! with so many other having the exact same issue I guess it's a software issue that needs fixing!

Does anyone else here live in Rotorua? wondering if they are losing the same channels?
There is only one transmitter here so no chance of multiple paths for channel etc.

Channel update information comes over the air via the mheg5 feed which provides EPG data to most DV-T systems.
It's controlled by Kordia, the people who run the Freeview transmissions.
Unfortunately TiVos react this way and do stupid things to your channel settings when new information is broadcast this way.
The TiVo support people (in Australia) simply blame it on the broadcasters if you complain to them. They're pathetic.

I also live in Rotorua & have the same problem on two TiVo's. It's been happening from virtually day one Freeview arrived here. Message appears advising line up has changed & TV1 , 2, U & 7 have been deleted or words to that effect. Every morning I retune both units. TiVo are currently about to send out a trial beta software update to selected people here in NZ & Aussie who are experiencing similar issues. That is happening this coming week & if it fixes this issue & doesn't create any problems then It will be rolled out as an automatic update to all with this model TiVo. My fingers are crossed after dealing with this issue for months now.

No the TiVo EPG is downloaded every nite via the internet to your TiVo box. TiVi does not use MHEG5 EPG.

But your correct . The software does need fixing to solve this problem..

TiVo does manage to get channel allocation changes even when the ethernet connection is unplugged. As this information is transmitted by Mheg5, I assume that this is where TiVo is getting it from.
It's a pity it doesn't use this feed for at least MTV and Prime EPG data though.

Your correct.. My apologies. I believe the EPG that is supplied as a 14 day format is supplied someway via TV Guide..
The problem with using mheg5 from Freeview is tha the TiVos would then have to be FV certified and you would kiss goodbye the home network package or it would be severely restricted to your own files only no over the air stuff..

Clive100, thanks for the information! Great to have some 'local' knowledge.
Seems like I don't have a faulty TiVo after all.
Fingers crossed the coming update fixes the problem.

I knew I was taking a bit of a punt with the TiVo. It seemed a bit too good to be true, what I was getting for the money spent.
I got a brand new one for $250. Supposed to include 'free'home networking upgrade too.

So far I'm pretty happy with the unit. Loving the 2 tuners and the season pass feature. The picture quality on SD is far superior to my Dreambox DM500 DVB-S. The HD shows on the TiVo are awesome!

I got an email from high up in tivo australia

THEY ARE AWARE OF THE CANNEL LINE UP PROBLEM
and they will be RELEASING NEW SOFTWEAR TO THE PUBLIC IN DEC OR JAN

Hi. Wannabe Geek. I agree they are great units once this problem is sorted & would be even better if Prime & Maori would give the EPG data to TiVo so we can use the EPG for all channels.
I am on the list & should be getting the beta software update. I will advise if it works or not. Cheers.

That must be the list I am on.
I bet ya $1 that the softwear is bung or something lol

My tivo is in my room i dont seem to get the channel line up thing as its not on all the time

I am having the same problem. Also got similar response from tivo. Hopefully this new update that everyone is talking about will work. I am in southland. presuming that this issue is happening all over NZ if it is only a software issue.

Are you guys still having the same issue? The reason I ask is I am visiting my inlaws and they have the exact same thing, every morning (they are in Taupo). Sounds like there could be a software fix soon to fix it. ?
