gregmcc:old3eyes: Maybe TiVo should suggest say a $5 / month maintenance fee like they have in the US for EPG maintenance etc.. I would rather pay that than have a box that has about the level of usability as an old VCR.
It's a suggestion, but most people paid a quite high price to buy the Tivo's on the condition that a "lifetime service" was provided, now it seems that tivo seem to be cutting portions of the service.
If Tivo decide to quit NZ then as far as i'm concered they have broken the sale and purchase terms and I will be chasing them for a full refund.

So TIVO is guilty of misleading advertising and their equipment is not fit for the purpose.
Perhaps time for a complaint to the Commerce Commission.
They could possibly face refunds to all TIVO owners.
Klipspringer:
Well as Dan mentioned, the problem is within the transmission stream sent by TVNZ
I doubt its an issue for the Commerce Commission.
