Ahh yeah, can you PM me your TSN again, from memory we manually forced you back during the initial debug.

I'll get you mapped correctly early in the week.

Not sure the exact date of the turn off, the guys in TVNZ will of course be monitoring the situation as well.

There have been 'late night' in production tests carried out, that show all is well

I apparently forgot to knock on wood.

There is an issue with the b7 build, and we have to roll back to b6 for the moment.
A corrected firmware will be released as soon as it's available, no ETA but I'm expecting it to be within a week or two.

Well, folks

Back to same issue we had in September....TIVO not recording or showing subtitles via TV 1 and TV 2.  Started on Wednesday 2nd April.

My guess there has been an upgrade of some sort......

I do hope it is not going to take weeks like it did last year.

Please fix it!

Cheers

Yeah same here,as least it's not just mine! But dan why can't we get the TV 3 subtitles,is it something to do with not complying with freeview or is it tv3 not offering them to tivo?

Is it still not recording subtitles?

There may/should have been some issues during final testing of the new firmware which took place on Wed 2nd (only way to do a conclusive test is with the live feed)

In update news, pending final scheduling approval, we should have the fixed firmware fully rolled out on/before the Easter weekend.

Yep - I have been a bit slow in updating as well.

In the dogbox here with SWMBO away on a work trip for 3 days and all recording occuringf with no captions.  Seemed it started last Wedensday.

I get that this is complex and often only a live test can confirm/delay.........but waiting until Easter for a fix is a bit much...particulalry given the track record of the upgrade team to date.

Also who's branwave is it to do a upgrade just before a decent set of holidays when most folk are going to be using their Tivo capability in anger.

Dan - just reread your post, see you are trying for a fix pre Easter rather than planning an Easter release.  My issue is why did the team need to wait for the users to voice concerns - surely the team could have tested and confirmed captions were not working by April 3rd.  Would have been nice for this to have been front footed.

To reiterate, there should have been some issues on Wed and only Wed, hence my question if it was ongoing. I have no visibility of the transport stream from here.

Best guess, something failed on re-enabling the work around, I'll take it up with TVNZ tomorrow, now that I have confirmation.

Again, see above, and the firmware will hopefully be rolled out by Easter, I have made no comments on when the work around will be turned off, but a good hint would be *After* the new firmware has finished it's roll out.

As for who's "branwave" ?
Mine

Sorry... tired, there is a lot more that goes into these things than it appears from the outside, and a lot of people in at least three countries I am aware of that are looking forward to normal sleep patterns :)

Grumbles aside, if something has gone horribly wrong with the TVNZ work around, and we can't achieve a transparent cut over, I'll endeavor to get everyone up and running ASAP.

Dan, we don't use captions, but I have been following this thread with interest only because I am a *huge* fan of our TiVo and am pleased to see the support continuing.  Please consider this an expression of my appreciation of the work you and your teams are doing.

Thanks all,
Appreciate the kind words.

All things being equal, closed captioning should either be back up, or up shortly.

Please let me know when you see it, independent confirmation is always good.
