Lets re-position this, the budget is in the low 100s. Expensive multi camera systems are way out of her budget.

The fact that she can't afford the cloud subscriptions should have been an indicator, and I'm probably going to have to help out to make sure she gets something better than the Tapo units.

Another +1 for Eufy here, I've got about five outdoor cameras and a video doorbell. Been 99% rock solid for the 4+ years I've had them all.

No complaints other than that the app doesn't work with iOS Shortcuts, so you can't do any kewl automations with Siri etc..

A Blink Outdoor 4 (2 pack) costs $170 (or $95 each camera if buying individually). Each Blink Outdoor uses 2x AAA batteries, which lasts the whole year, depending on activity.

I can send you the spare Blink Sync Module I have, so you can have the system up and running, saving you $69. You will need a fast USB key for storage.

@OP looks like blink is a decent option for you then?

If you can stretch to 400 though looks like supercheap just put the 2 camera eufy pack on sale. IME eufy just works and lasts well

A happy Reolink buyer here.  We have a couple of cameras, one wired and the other WiFi, set to FTP to our NAS for off-device storage.  Not sure about other cameras, but with the Reolink ones you have the option to enable (or disable) a ping to a Reolink server so that you can access your cameras remotely even if your internet connection has dynamic IP.  We leave that feature off when we're at home, but if we're going to be away for a bit it is quite useful and totally free.

In the same boat as OP and looking at some wireless cameras. Will keep an eye out on Black Friday sales. I think i've narrowed it down to between 2 Eufy models with solar charging to reduce the need of manual recharging.

Any experience, feedback or comparison on the below models?

Eufy Solocam S220 2K https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/p/eufy-security-solocam-s220-2-cam-kit/N232692.html

vs

Eufy Cam 3 S330 4K https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/p/eufy-cam-3-wireless-home-security-system-with-homebase-3---2-pack/N215860.html

Will probably look at the 2 pack with homebase, but is the Eufy Cam 3 worth around $150-$200 price difference (when on sale)?

If the Eufy Cameras are out of range of the Homebase - Can they connect to the homebase via my homes Wifi network?
I have a router >> POW Switch >> Ubquity Access Points so that i mitigate dead spots
