So just got heat pump installed by Design Air, amazing Google Reviews hence I picked them over someone else, plus they were giving 5 year workmanship warranty too, although couple of days before install they told me that I need to have it serviced by them every year for $150.00 which I didn't agree to, never mentioned this at the time of quote. Also, COC was completely wrong with most things not filled and no signature and date. This has now been fixed, thanks to gregmcc
Is it just me or it doesn't look level? I still have to pay rest of the 50%, is this something to create a fuss about or let it go & pay them the balance? I don't want to be the fussy customer but shouldn't it be level, especially when clearance was tight, needs to be 55-60cm from top. I guess nothing can be done now.

A tape measure doesn't show level. Your ceiling could well be out of level. Put a spirit level on it.

As mentioned, use a spirit level.

Also, how does it look compared to the frames either side, if they're not parallel, different heights etc, then they may have done the best they could aesthetically.

its important to get the level right because of the drain pan.

assuming for one sec that the ceiling is level, yours would be sloping the wrong way (i'm assuming the drain is on the right hand side). that can cause for water drainage problems when using aircon.

It’s a rental so bit hard to check level etc. Have to arrange time etc. Surely the installer would have checked the level, isn’t it? Yeah pipes come out of the right side.

It does but that clearly isn’t possible where OP has had the indoor unit mounted. If that’s the available wall then it is what it is. Retrofits are often imperfect due to the space not being designed for the machine.

Doesn't look like it's level. Out of level falling to the left as suspected and shown by tape measure. guy doing the install had a bandage on one knee and told me after mounting it that he's on ACC due to knee injury but has to help out. Should I get then back to fix it before paying the balance? Can it be fixed? I'm not too worried about the looks but if there might be a problem with drainage in future, that's a concern. Is there a test that can be done to make sure water is draining out? Running on cool for a while & checking if water comes out of the drip pipe?

As per Mitsubishi minimum required clearance is 60mm

They can disagree all they like. It's not installed properly and you want it installed level. You aren't asking for anything unreasonable.

It's a minor fix. They just need to adjust the bracket position, they can use the same penetration.
