freitasm: We set ours in our girl's bedroom at 19c - it means it will turn itself on at 18c and off at 20c. Heater in max position as recommended by the instructions.

19C means that it will turn itself at 19C and turn off at 20C (if the heating mode is set up)

The white paper says it will heat to the set temperature and turn itself off. It will turn itself on again when the temperature drops 1c below the set temperature.

This means it will turn itself on again at 18c, not at 19c. The paper says it turns itself off at 19c but my experience shows it turns of at 20c - 1c below for on and 1c above for off.

If you are using oil column heaters it will continue to heat after the power is cut and I have found that the room may go an extra 1c - to be honest a 2-3c fluctuation between lowest physical temperature and high is hardly noticeable because it's so gradual and it makes for a comfortable environment.

Procrastination eventually pays off.

One of my Heatermate devices is not turning on (push the On button and the LED doesn't light up - neither green or red).

I tried to pushing the reset button and it is still not working. It shows the current temperature but where it would show the set temperature it just flashes LO.

Anyone seen this? I am going to contact Heatermate now.

Not this exact issue - no.

I have seen most issues resolved by leaving unplugged for about 48 hours (to make sure the capacitor in the unit fully drains)., then resetting (to make sure the capacitor in the unit fully drains).

To plug myself again, one of the advantages to buying local is that we ship out replacements in advance (for free), with a self addressed bag for returning the faulty unit (for free).
I will say, our failure rate has been about 1.3%, so very low.

I would be happy to buy from you but the price is quite steep. Any coupon discounts for geekzoners? I want one initially but if they are good I would buy more. I have quite a big network of friends that are new parents also.

So you answer is no then ;-) A little more I could understand but $20 more I can't... not on an item of this value. you are asking $53 (and that is discounted from $60!) and people are buying them in for $33 per item shipped (in bulk I realise). GST is only 15%, that's accounts for $5 of it I guess, but $33 to $53 is a 60% increase.

Of course I wont. Thanks for your considered response - troll. I was trying to buy them locally and to support a local business, but you can just shoot me down for that if you wish. I would be happy to pay a local supplier a little extra to support them, but I can't warrant paying $20 extra on an item that I can get for $33. Especially when I want 2 or 3. I guess there is a whole bunch of people on geekzone that agree with me given the number of people ordering from Aussie.

First, thanks for insulting (calling me a troll).

Second: it's obvious that any business sets their prices to the organic balance between being profitable and being acceptable by customers. And it's fine if you can afford to buy at one place and prefer the other. For them the profitable and reasonable margin is ~$20. It's surprising to see someone ranting about it aloud: you don't like it - you don't buy it, that simple.
