Hi Everbody,

We saw a few people asking about heatermates with timers built in.

Is there still interest in this?

Considering a heatermate is $50 - $60, how much extra would you pay?

$20 extra? so $70 - $80?

If I was to offer pre-orders at $60 would you order one?

I'll stick up a youtube video showing the units in a couple of weeks, just gauging interest at the moment.

Both my Heatermates are now dead. Got them from Australia. I think it could be a leaky capacitor or something - not an engineer but it didn't look good inside.

If there was an option with timer I'd like to see it, but expect the quality to be better than the lot I bought last year.

Both mine failed too and I think they were the same batch as your ones. Wouldn't recommend them as they didn't last a winter

Interesting (not in a good way) that it seems there have been so many failures.

In the past year we've had about a 1.2% return rate which is low for this sort of product.
Either way, we are working through qa processes to make sure any additional products will be high quality.

The bigger question is is it worthwhile bringing in another version?
Certification, insurance and all that is expensive and complex.

I can't discourage this product enough i woke up to smoke in the room, it almost caught on fire.

the only luck here is that my baby was sleeping in the same room as us and i woke up and smelt the smoke.

Using this could be a matter of life and death.

I assume that you don't have a smoke detector in the room, next time you may not wake up.

Take this as a warning and get smoke alarms fitted today! They are cheap and easy to fit.

You have a small baby and you don't have adequate smoke alarms in the house? Please change that today.

Hi,

That's not great.

If your brought it from Heatermate.com.au, please get in touch with them and return it.

If you brought it from cleverhome.co.nz email me info@cleverhome.co.nz

We all want to make sure we are delivering a safe product - so please send it back so the unit can be examined.

Thanks - Daniel @ cleverhome

Two of my three Heatermates bought in 2017 from AU no longer work. Hopefully the good one will live through this winter.

The idea is genius but the implementation poor, I wonder if there's any alternative I can try?

If you find something that works like a heatermate but it's not this same product, keen to know...

Still working on it.

Electrical certification is expensive and a little challenging.

I'm looking through some old purchases on eBay but can't find the link. Something like this is the ticket. I bought some better quality ones something like this.

(Don't buy this one out doesn't have sleeves on the pins.)

Edit link, which isn't a link cos it's basically impossible from mobile device

I purchased three at the same time thinking they were exactly what I wanted.... one melted, the other two failed. Not exactly what I want in my kids bedroom.

The three I bought like 3 years ago are still working fine.  Using them every winter.
