I'm looking for a recommendation for a battery operated home irrigation controller and solenoid valves (20mm lines) to control three zones on different frequencies (trees weekly, veges alternate days and herbs twice daily).  There is lots of choice out there but I'm unsure what is reliable and reasonably priced.

I would like external solenoid switching because the box needs to be located about 1m from the valve bank.

Ideally I would like a system that uses master a master solenoid as well as individual zone solenoids.

I recall seeing some DC ones on irrigation express when I was last ordering PVC pipe stuff from them and browsing around.
