Currently looking to install motorised blinds in a large living area at home (4 x 2.8mtr wide blinds) and I'm wanting to control them via iOS and also be able to set various timers for automated opening and closing.

I've looked at Somfy but the NZ distributor says that the MyLink won't work in NZ (the only reason I can see for this is that it requires 110v which isn't a problem really) and the Tahoma one product cannot be managed from outside the internal WiFi network.

Does anyone have any experience with the Somfy products or another product that might help in this area?

Do Somfy NZ supply the ZRTSI interface? If so then you could pick up any Homekit enabled Z-Wave hub and get it connected that way. This would also allow for scheduling of the blinds as well as remote operation.

Could you not just vpn back to your home network to control the Tahoma product?
